As always a great post. I may add one thing that in India, after independance, Hindi was a required language to learn in the school. Therefore even the language of instruction in schools was the language of that state, Hindi was added in the curriculum from 4th grade instead of English which was there before but now moved to be taught from 8th grade. The idea was that eventually Hindi will become the national language and English will be removed. However, for college education, English remained as the medium of instruction. This made it very difficult to the students who went through this Hindi experiment in the primary and secondary schools and were suddenly thrust upon English as the medium of instruction in the colleges and the universities.
After about a decade or two of this experimentation, the governmemnt realized that English is lot more useful to deal with the western world and for sceintific studies and the Hindi experiment ended. However, it did help spread Hindi all over the country and now if you travel in India, you can communicate anywhere in Hindi.
Hi, I'm a Pakistani Punjabi and I love your posts. Please quickly add the next post. Thanks. More Pakistanis need to know about the reality of their country and the why it was created. Not the usual BS with which they are brainwashed in Pakistani schools. This brainwashing even spreads to overseas born Pakistanis, as their parents & grand parents just repeat the same propaganda that they learnt or heard in Pakistan.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers!
