Comments: A Truthful Telling Of History

Regarding President Obama's stance on "torture."

If it becomes the case that The Obama's Cabinet agrees that a terrorist under control of US authorities has direct knowledge of a pending attack on a major city in the US, but "standard" (as opposed to EIT) interrogation is not producing the information required to stop this attack:

What will The Obama do?

What will his teleprompter command him to say after the attack?

What city may become history?

How many dead so that The Obama can claim a "moral high ground?"

The appearance of the words dick cheney and truth in the same sentence or proximity, creates an oxymoron, like the use of troll and honesty or common sense...

Posted by headxray at May 21, 2009 03:55 PM

Thank you for proving my point mr troll..I hope your schizophrenia clears up enough for you to decide on one name..buena seurte on that and your inability to reason or recognize reality..

Posted by headxray at May 21, 2009 04:03 PM

Dear Me Again: Get back in that leaky f**king trailer and stfu...you complete clueless moron...get it thru your thick skull, torture provides requested information and not needed information...in the case of your fucking heroes, they simply wanted some Muslim guy to say that Saddam and Bin Laden were compatriots and sure enough that was what was said....problem is, it was bullshit and now 100,000 Iraqis are dead...the tragedy is that you morons are still alive and we have to put up with you. Put the crayons away, this subject is for adults.

Why do people still write articles about Dick Cheney?

Posted by Goyo at May 21, 2009 04:37 PM

Goyo! How are you? Long time....

Yes, perhaps I should agree with you. After all, Club Gitmo and EIT is indeed breeding terrorism!

Witness:

The attack on the World Trade Center in 1993....

The attack on Khobar Towers in 1996...

The attack on the US embassy in Tanzania in 1998...

The attack on the US embassy in Kenya in 1998...

The attack on the USS Cole in 2000...

The attack on the World Trade Center in 2001...

Oh, wait. When was Club Gitmo / EIT established?

"...this subject is for adults."

Which is exactly why it is not being addressed in any real-world manner by the present Administration. An Administration comprised of children playing "dress-up."

"Why do people still write articles about Dick Cheney?"

Because what he is saying is relevant.

But more to the point, Goyo:

What will The Obama do?

What will his teleprompter command him to say after the attack?

What city may become history?

How many dead so that The Obama can claim a "moral high ground?"

Loking forward to the answers!

Regards,

Bagley

P.S. Club Gitmo will not be closed by the end of this year...or next year....and so on.

Keep smiling!

Put the crayons away, this subject is for adults.

Funny! I was thinking the same thing - every time I see that silly "teleprompter" thingy, I get an image of a toddler getting a kick out of saying "poopyhead" or something, hoping to get a rise out of his parents. I mean, outside of the comment threads at right wing sites, who even knows what the whole teleprompter thing is about, and those who do know, don't care, because it means nothing. It's just another kid giggling at a fart that happened a long time ago and is only funny to him.

Posted by Twinky P* at May 21, 2009 05:24 PM

The teleprompter thing?

But, but, The Obama was purported to be the great orator.

"...because it means nothing."

I guess that He is not the great orator.

Never mind.

Regards,

Bagley

P.S.

Sometime in the Spring of 2011.

The setting is The White House Press Room.

This is The Obama's 507th press conference of his first term.

A terrorist has detonated a nuclear weapon in a major metropolitan area.

Chicago is no longer.

A reporter asks a question.

The teleprompter speaks: "Yes, I know that three million people are dead and that major US city is gone and that the area will be un-inhabitable for hundreds, if not thousands of years, but the important thing is that we did not waterboard [insert name of terrorist here].

A reporter asks a question.

The teleprompter speaks: "Yes, the nuclear fallout is drifting South. Millions of more will die and be sickened. But the important thing is that we did not waterboard [insert name of terrorist here]. It is irrelevant that the Cabinet was in agreement that [insert name of terrorist here] knew that [insert name of terrorist here] was a conspirator of this man-caused-disaster. Not withstanding my Presidential oath protect the United States from attack: remember that the important thing is that we did not waterboard [insert name of terrorist here].

The teleprompter blinks repeatedly and words unknown to The Obama appear on the screen.

The Obama responds to this un-scripted moment: Ummm. Ahhh. Ahhhh. Ummmm. You know. Ummm. Ahhh. Manhattan has just been vaporized.
.
.
.Ummmm.
.
.
.
Ahhh.
.
.
.
But the important thing is that we did not waterboard Manhattan....I mean, [insert name of terrorist here].

A moment of panic ensues. The Obama is confused.

The un-scripted space-time continuum continues.

The Obama calls out to an aid: [insert name of terrorist here] was in Manhatten on release from Gitmo. Is [insert name of terrorist here] OK?

A reporter calls out a question.

The Obama responds: Ummm. Ahhh. Ahhh.
.
.
.
Yes, [insert name of terrorist here] was released earlier this year after the Supreme Court ruling where the majority -- my majority...my majority of appointments ruled that empathy required that he be released and be afforded welfare payments -- the majority opined that he be released, [insert name of terrorist here].
.
.
.
But the important thing to remember is that we did not waterboard [insert name of terrorist here].
.
.
.
.

Well, I hate to rain on your creative writing experiment, garbage bagger, but God, what an embarrassing juvenile fantasy world you live in----both with torture and teleprompters. And you think that YOU'RE the adult? Comic.

Unless a nation tortures all "terror" suspects, it's led by children, riiiight. Jeebus, what a pinhead, and unamerican to boot. You don't understand anything about the traditions, history, laws or ideals of this country, you cretinous authoritarian goon.

Stick to your sci-fi and Fox TV "dramas" and leave reality to the adults---a category you most definitely have rejected wholesale. And what's this obsession with "the cabinet"?

Yeah, you've hit upon how it's really gonna happen. Waterboarding would have saved Chicago from a nuclear attack, riiight. OK, back to your Star Wars DVD archive now. Play with your heroic lightsaver (batteries not included) and fantasize about the "dark side", little man.

Or else maybe you and family should clear out of the country now, just to be on the safe side, right? Wingnut Boob.

Cheney appealing to "truth", jeebus, that's about as rich as it gets. Your lies are conservative "truth", Dead Eye, just ask your disciple the garbage bagger......

And when did any cable news network carry any speech of ex-VP Gore (or any ex-VP) live?

Your Lib'rul media!

"It seems like the former vice-president is the one piggybacking on the new president's detainee policy spotlight, but a top foreign-policy analyst argues that, when it comes to tribunals, it's the other way around: the Obama administration is maintaining the practice of inventing justice as America sees fit." Esquire
...
"Obama continues to promote Bush-Cheney's isolating notion that detainees should be tried in a special, U.S.-executive-branch-controlled system of alternative justice that lies outside of two proven pillars of traditional justice: the military's ever-effective courts martial and our civilian court system, which is held in place by the same safeguards of the Constitution that Obama invoked so many times this morning."

This coming from a Constitutional Law professor in the presence. I wonder how many libertarian fans Obama has left?

Salon's Glenn Greenwald has a piece noting that President Obama's policies on terrorism are almost identical to those of President Bush.

Since "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" came into effect, some 13,000 service members have been fired for being gay. Thousands more decided against pursuing a full career in the military and let their contracts expire. As a candidate, Barack Obama promised to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." As President, he has not lifted a finger to overturn the ban.

Oh, and Seven, what about that senate vote last night? Who's the party of "no" ? The vote was 90 - 6, I seem to remember we only have 40 Republican senators...Who voted with the president? And this follows an earlier House measure that also withheld monies for closing the detention facility.

Nice of President Obama to raise Cheney's stature even moreso by scheduling this event today. Now he's "debating" a former vice president at an equal level. Either he's fallen or Cheney's risen. Doing this message with the economic news of the day...very questionable. Hey Seven, what is our Secretary of Defense's name...William? Ronald? Nice of our president to remember...the guy was sitting right in front of him.

Shit brain petie always reliable for proving the complete childishness, dishonesty, and sheer stupidity of the conservative supporter/commenter..
Thanks shitbrain pete for your reliable stupidity..
Another example of how they just don't get it..if there is a way to twist logic, pete will find it..

Posted by headxray at May 21, 2009 09:09 PM

Barack Obama is my president. John McCain couldn't have done a better job had he been elected. I'm happy that the Obama's are settling into their new WH home. The guy has this chance, this one chance to get this right, and he's blowing it...

...Big Time!

As a candidate, Barack Obama promised to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." As President, he has not lifted a finger to overturn the ban.

Waiting to hear from the Pentagon and the Generals. I have full confidence it will be repealed in the next year.

Who voted with the president?

Smart Democrats... not one repuke.

Sounds like your still listening to every word that liar cheney has to say petie... "Fear, 9/11, fear, Saddam/terrorists/WMD, fear, 9/11, scary black President, fear, 9/11, Saddam/terrorists/WMD, fear." I was waiting for cheney to say that Pelosi fucked Saddam. Aren't you a proud republi-con!

The guy has this chance, this one chance to get this right, and he's blowing it...Big Time!

Don't ever forget who dealt him this hand! He's doing the best he can with the obstruction, lack of cabinet positions filled... don't be sad concern troll... If he can accomplish half of what is on his plate, it will have been a success.

Where peter and Bagley are concerned we see the clueless leading the blind. Such people would approve of torture as a national sport. Only a fascist state can provide the kind of security they are looking for.

The guy has this chance, this one chance to get this right, and he's blowing it...Big Time!

As opposed to the prior 8 years of blown chances -BTW, I remember that as the time when all KKKons where down on their knees blowing the "Idiot Busch" all the way...and maybe jesus...we certainly can't forget about how you guys get down on your knees to please jesus- so I'll take this moment instead, thank you very much.

U.S.-executive-branch-controlled system of alternative justice that lies outside of two proven pillars of traditional justice...

Interesting, but stupid, point. The Nuremberg Trials were military commissions of the type Obama is positing.

But the important thing to remember is that we did not waterboard [insert name of terrorist here].

I hope to god we can insert the names of the 14 year-olds. Of course, if we did them like the little kids at Abu Ghraib they were ass-fucked. Cool, huh?! Hey...and that hooded guy with the wires hanging down from him in those Abu Ghraib photos? He was a car-jacker...not a terrorist. Cool! And since we don't treat them worse than people in America, maybe next time you or your son is pulled over for a ticket a little ass-fucking will get you to admit you were doing 83mph instead of 79.

An Administration comprised of children playing "dress-up."

Indeed.

Petie, if anyone is "blowing" anything big..
It's you!

Thanks.
