I find you compelling both in the political and the personal. Don't censor yourself.
Quitting smoking is a full time job in itself, so you are doing very good work. You don't have to feel like a Puritan; find other rewards - there are so many to choose from.
I'm glad you are getting help, but why the one-year limit? You can't predict the timing of these things like you can a broken arm.
Love, Katherine

Posted by gail at May 30, 2009 04:48 PMKeep up the great work Doxie, both in besting the urge to smoke and tending to your gardens. From these pictures, you're doing a fabulous job!!!!
Posted by peter at May 30, 2009 09:28 PMI love your beautiful pictures, paradox. Your work for St. Judes is such an act of love - it is truly inspiring.
And congratulations on your not-smoking campaign. Stay well, man.
Posted by Mary at May 30, 2009 10:39 PMParadox - you're better man than I. I'm quitting only because of the sinus surgery I got last week. After that amount of money and pain, I don't want to even touch another cigarrette and screw my head up even more than it is now. I think your approach is far, far better.
