When people ask what difference it makes to have diversity in the workplace...
When people ask exactly what Judge Sotomayer was saying when she referred to her life experiences...
When people ask what is missing when all public discourse contains all and only the unspoken assumptions of a white male class...
I refer them to Rachel Maddow's coverage of Dr. Tiller. No one else, including other liberal but male commentators quite "got" it.
Rachel did.
We weep for the white man that killed all those inconvenient baby womyn.
Posted by CarnalCarnage at June 7, 2009 05:18 AMHmm. A terrorist sympathizer right here on our humble blog. Good thing we have his IP address to send to the FBI. The pro-death whackos like CarnalGuy (that's his porn name, I'll bet), are going to be dealt with, finally.
And good for Maddow, too. She's been brilliant in tracing the decades of crimes of the terrorist pro-death extremists this past week. Like she said, they need to be exposed and dogged until the country views them as repulsive as the KKK. Of course, Republicans (which most of them are) are almost to that point already. Criminals and murderers. No wonder the country has already rejected them. Whiney little piss ants who just can't get over the fact that women have the power to create life, and the legal right to decide when they want to do so! Scares the shit outta you, doesn't it, porn guy?
Posted by Twinky P* at June 7, 2009 06:34 AMHonest and factual aren't exactly the two words I'd use to describe Maddow. I'll have to take your word on it that she has been honest and factual in her depictions of Dr. Tiller(who I happen to believe is brave and courageous). I don't watch her anymore. She lost credibility with me during the primary wars. One of the many, many casualties.
It's good to hear that when she feels the occasion warrants, she can be objective rather than subjective.
