Thanks for this, I've been following Marcy's coverage of the CIA files pretty closely, she's a heck of an investigative journalist!

keeping tabs on the Iranian vote...my money is on the incumbent due to the fact he seems like he'd definitely cheat to win, and has the mechanism to do so. He'd be a great Republican. But regardless of the outcome, what is clear is that a sizable portion, perhaps a majority, of the Iranian people are interested in being just the kind of nation that we Americans would like them to be. That can't please the factions, both here and in Israel, that would like to commence bombing Iran forthwith. If nothing else, I'd opine that this election in Iran strengthens Obama's current "let's talk about being friends" approach to Iran. They key to MidEast peace and stability lies as much with Iran as it does the Israeli/Palestine issue, and today's election indicates that a good portion of the Iranian people understand that.

Yeah, Ahmadinejad will likely pull it out, I'll guess that many older voters don't like seeing those uppity women and kids becoming a major factor in Iranian politics. Best to teach 'em that interest and participation don't pay!

It also appears that the clerics and Ahmadinejad have suceeded in creating a huge urban/rural divide in Iran, just as our GOoP faction builders have done here.

And where's our geopolitical expert Garbage-bagger to tell us that Iranian elections are a sham, and there's no actual choice involved? That used to be the "conservative" line on Iran.

Now the question is not whether the Iranian election is meaningless, it's whether it was rigged by Ahmadinejad.

Must be making the Right's head spin, especially as prominent neocons have literally come out and said they want the Holocaust denier to win. Now that's perverse and sick, and a real sign of the mental instability of these leading neocons.

I think Moussavi wins.
