Have any of y'all been to Recovery.org lately to see what's been spent of the "stimulus"? It was said we urgently needed this plan. How come so little has been spent? Where are the "shovel ready" jobs? Great leadersheep folks, your guy's guesses are all wrong, the models have wrong formulas. We still like your guy, but his policies stink right now. Folks are going to start looking behind the curtain and not like what they're seeing.

The 95% of us who aren't supposed to see any tax increases will treat him just like we did the last buy who broke his tax promise and that guy had a 90% popularity at one point. What happened to that party that raised the taxes back in 1990? Two election cycles the other folks had majorities. Watch the tea parties folks, they're happening all over this country

Colbert's brilliant, that was a great bit. You can tell he and Hanks had a great time. Thanks, Mary!

Seems even some of the Revolutionary Guard are getting caught up in this post election protest. According to Cyrus News Agency "16 senior members of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps were arrested. "These commanders have been in contact with members of the Iranian army to join the people's movement," CNA reports. "Three of the commanders are veterans of Iran-Iraq war. They have been moved to an undisclosed location in East Tehran.""

The Iranians also seem to be arresting other clerics who support the conservative uprisings. Several are under house arrest now.

How about that Letterman apology to Gov. Palin and daughter?

And then there was Director Panetta backing off of his comments: The Director does not believe the former Vice President wants an attack," CIA spokesman Paul Gimigliano said in a statement to CNN. "He did not say that. He was simply expressing his profound disagreement with the assertion that President Obama's security policies have made our country less safe. Nor did he question anyone's motives.

I see VP Biden is right, unfortunately, the admins guess of 8.9% unemployment will soon be as President Obama tells Bloomberg today, over 10%. Where's the spending? Recovery.org doesn't show very much, yet.

The Bush people are getting more control: "The Federal Reserve, already arguably the most powerful agency in the U.S. government, will get sweeping new authority to regulate any company whose failure could endanger the U.S. economy and markets under the Obama administration's regulatory overhaul plan." Washington Times.

"Roubini, who rose to prominence for predicting the global credit crisis, tore down the "green shoots" theory that a rebound is imminent, saying there was a significant risk of a "double-dip" recession where the economy expands slightly only to begin contracting again." Reuters

"In addition to green shoots there are also yellow weeds," he told the Reuters Investment Outlook Summit in New York.

He pointed to the growing divergence between business sentiment surveys, which have been improving in recent months, and industrial production, which is down sharply and receded another 1.1 percent in May.

What does Roubini know? Lots

Check this out:

Nevada Sen. John Ensign admits affair; sources say blackmail involved

...
Political insiders in the Senate and in Nevada told POLITICO that Ensign began an affair with a staffer several months after he separated from his wife. When Ensign reconciled with his wife, the sources said, he gave the aide a severance package and parted ways.

Sometime later, a Nevada source said, Ensign met with the husband of the woman involved and had what this source described as a positive encounter. Sources said that the man subsequently asked Ensign for a substantial sum of money – at which point Ensign decided to make the affair public. In his Las Vegas press conference, Ensign declined to give specifics about the woman involved but did say she and “her husband were close friends and both of them worked for me.”

At the Tuesday press conference, a contrite Ensign admitted his affair, said his wife sought counseling after the episode, but added that he and his wife have reconciled. Ensign took no questions.

Number one, why did his wife seek counseling? He's the one fucking around, i'n't he? Number two, he fucks around, and when he gets busted, he fires his mistress? What an asshole. But then we knew that already, didn't we?

John Ensign 02/04:

“The effort to pass a constitutional amendment reaffirming marriage as being between a man and a woman only is being undertaken strictly as a defense of marriage against the attempt to redefine it and, in the process, weaken it,” Ensign said. “Marriage is an extremely important institution in this country and protecting it is, in my mind, worth the extraordinary step of amending our constitution.”

Probably could have predicted this one, eh? I guess he could use this as evidence that teh ghey nearly ruined his marriage, but he's apologized, so it should all go away. How's that working out for Letterman, btw? I hear Malkin isn't accepting the apology. Not sure how it's any of her bidness, but since she's the only one following that silliness anyhow, I guess she can make up the rules as she goes along.

"Two prominent gay figures, activist David Mixner and widely read blogger Andy Towle, have pulled out of a Democratic National Committee fundraiser later this month amid growing calls to confront the administration at what was supposed to be its first large scale opportunity to bring in gay cash." "Sunday I had a phone conversation with Cynthia Yockey in which she calmly and cheerfully explained that she was going to get David Letterman fired. Republicans are too willing to take that kind of abuse, Cynthia said, but she comes out of the gay-rights movement, and they don't roll that way."

Nice to that our president loses sleep over the deficits he's creating. California gas over $3 again, Chicago too! When's he going to put his foot down like his predecessor did last summer?
