Let's see, Democrats have close to 60 seats in the senate. By your tone here Mary, that sounds like it's not enough. Gee, when we had what, 56 seats, our president got what he requested plus more. Like I've said before, we need better Democrats. Those progressives keep messing things up.

And that leadersheep, not very well served by either Pelosi or Reid. And I hear Republicans are being frozen out of all hearings. When, if this doesn't pass, the recriminations are going to be bad for your party. Americans want inclusiveness not isolationist. The big tent party was supposed to provide that. If you don't share, they will take away your ball. And what happened to president transparent? Isakoff over at Newsweek sees nothing of it.

Let's remember Neda and her peoples.

There are so few constants in life. That's why Classic Coke and Hershey chocolate are so soothing to me.

Although toxic trolls are also a constant around here, they are anything but soothing.

Well, one has to start concluding that these "lawmakers" don't really want to DO anything. They vastly prefer the appearance of doing something.

Congress is broken. Basically the whole systen is broken. Our party now has the levers of power, as much as any one party will ever obtain. And they literally refuse to legislate what 75% of the citizens expect them to do---and this with the worthless corporate press and its daily torrent of lies!

We've fallen, and we can't get up. It's the money, and the monstrous egos.

We aren't a revolutionary people any longer, and there aren't any other avenues of progress available in a two party system, so expect the ennui and stagnation to continue.

Lobbyist are still running the congress. It is not just Republicans that are in bed with lobbyists. There are Democrats who will also do not do what is good for American majority for getting hugh contributions from special interests. That is why it is the job of the media to expose such legislators. However, with FOX constantly pumping anti Obama rhetoric, the chances of any Republicans supporting the Health Care cause is impossible. Now when these corrupt Democrats join them, it makes it even more difficult.

Like Peter says, Bush got lot of his agenda thru congress. He used the patriotism argument effectively. It is time to bring that back. If you vote against having a comprehensive health-care, you are with the terrorists and not supporting the troops. May be that will work with these corrupt legislators.

"If you vote against health care...you are with the terrorists..."

Suresh, you are definitely on to something! Very clever.

Americans want inclusiveness not isolationist.

You bet. That's why 50% of republi-KKKons polled want Universal Healthcare. Now, as to the Dem Congress, they can pass this with no r-KKKons on board. If they do it drives the r-KKKons into obscurity for 40 or 50 years.

Unlike you assclowns, who would give a jackbooted salute to anything that makes war or wants the health insurance industry to operate without competition, plans are working right now to go after Dems in 2010. The Indian tribes and business lobbies in Montana are hammering the living shit out of Max "I Drink Their Liquor, Fuck Their Whores, and Take Their Money...Then Vote To Help Them" Baucus as we speak. There will be a reckoning. I don't know how many of these thieves will be looking for a new job in 2010, but it seems the rallying cry against any incumbent will focus around health care and what they do in the next few months.

Let's remember Neda and her peoples.

Let's remember Raul and Brisenia Flores.

Let's remember Neda and her peoples.

Hmm. What I remember is you and your cohorts only a year ago demanding the US glassify Neda and her "peoples" back to the stone age. Now you want someone to "pray" for them? I guess every day's a new day when you have no memory to go along with your lack of morals or principles.

He used the patriotism argument effectively. It is time to bring that back.

So effectively, in fact, the GOP is less popular than Cheney. That shit don't work no more. I've been emailing the poll showing 70% of the public wanting a public plan to my reps. Daily. Plus a photo with a picture of a check written out to "Your Primary Opponent." The only thing they understand is money, why bother with any other message, eh?

Let's remember Raul and Brisenia Flores.

Interesting how little attention another one of the Heroes of the Right Wing has gotten from peter, huh? One would think he's ashamed of his brethren's cold blooded killing of a 9 year old and her dad, and the attempted murder of the child's mother.

Someone start a website for whores, Republican and Democrats. Have it show all who take big money in direct conflict of their obligations to voters, and include people like George Will. Update it regularily, and retain anyone who qualified, so they slide up and down in rank, but have no way to exit the rankings. Bet you could get massive advertising because of the popularity of the site.

Another piece of the Obamanomics; US unemployment rate approaching Europe's.
...
"A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 39% of voters now say the country’s economic problems are caused more by the policies Obama has put in place. That’s a 12-point jump from a month ago.

Fifty-four percent (54%) still say the country’s economic woes are due to the recession Obama inherited from President Bush. That figure is down eight points from 62% from early June."

Then from the Wash Post:

Recovery's Missing Ingredient: New Jobs
Experts Warn of A Long Dry Spell

""Our hope would be to actually create some jobs this year," Obama said in an interview with The Washington Post in the days before taking office."

What did VP Biden say recently? We guesssed wrong.

***

The Iranian government armed with guns and tanks vs. the populace armed with cell phone cameras. My how Iranian women do protesters proud.

"General Ali Fazli, who was recently appointed as a commander of the Revolutionary Guards in the province of Tehran, is reported to have been arrested after he refused to carry out orders from the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei"
...
"The discussions have taken place in a series of secret meetings convened in the holy city of Qom and included Jawad al-Shahristani, the supreme representative of Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, who is the foremost Shiite leader in Iraq."
...
"The Boston Globe’s Anne Barnard reports that within Tehran’s own central bazaar, “an increasing number of merchants are sending their religious donations, a 20 percent tithe expected from all who can spare it, to Iraq’s most senior Shi’ite cleric.”"
...
Iranians have seen the elections held in neighboring Iraq. The fever for freedom has started. Another reason W is more favored over Obama. His speech has action behind it. We haven't seen that from our current president. He'd rather golf and go on ice cream runs.

Seven, you out there? How's the nicest June ever go for you? To quote the Arizona Republic:

Thursday, however, was the 14th consecutive day to stay below 100 degrees. That's the longest stretch of its kind in any June since 1913.

The lower temperatures have allowed people to sleep with windows open and drive with their arms out vehicle windows. Evenings, too, have been spent chatting with neighbors while children or grandchildren play. Those events are not life-changing, but they are, well, nice.

Seven, it's called global cooling, we can thank Al Gore he got another thing wrong.
