Comments: Dr. James Lovelock

Clearly Zero's intentional destruction of the US economy will be more devastating to the average American than will saltwater lapping at their toes.

Mary didn't you get rid of bendito by "disemvoweling" he/she? Could be time for the same treatment for "onar" the bore...

Funny, as we seemedly are moving forward with our cap and trade policy, Australia is ending theirs. A growing number of Australian politicians, scientists and citizens once again doubt the science of human-caused global warming.

"Credit for Australia's own era of renewed enlightenment goes to Dr. Ian Plimer, a well-known Australian geologist. Earlier this year he published "Heaven and Earth," a damning critique of the "evidence" underpinning man-made global warming. The book is already in its fifth printing. So compelling is it that Paul Sheehan, a noted Australian columnist -- and ardent global warming believer -- in April humbly pronounced it "an evidence-based attack on conformity and orthodoxy, including my own, and a reminder to respect informed dissent and beware of ideology subverting evidence." Australian polls have shown a sharp uptick in public skepticism; the press is back to questioning scientific dogma; blogs are having a field day." WSJ.com

Among the many reasons President Barack Obama and the Democratic majority are so intent on quickly jamming a cap-and-trade system through Congress is because the global warming tide is again shifting. It turns out Al Gore and the United Nations (with an assist from the media), did a little too vociferous a job smearing anyone who disagreed with them as "deniers." The backlash has brought the scientific debate roaring back to life in Australia, Europe, Japan and even, if less reported, the U.S.

PM Rudd wanted his cap and trade scheme passed, thankfully it isn't. Good old Dr. Ian Plimer, I've mentioned him here before.

and as always with bullshit spewing psycho-pete no link to his supposed "facts"..

just more delusional crap pulled from your ass, eh psycho-petie?

Still fantacizing how much everyone is impressed with the crap you spew, asshole?

the only thing "roaring" around here is your bullshit numbnuts....

Psycho-pete the rights own legend in his own mind....

At last those deniers who are doing it to protect their profits have a reason for denial----subhuman turds like peter deny simply because in the ongoing football game they want their "team" to win and "defeat" the hated lib'ruls. That's the mental illness of a meaningless "movement" cog carrying the water of his superiors and the behavior of someone who is a dead loss as a citizen.

To pinhead peter, an Australian geologist (whose "argument" he doesn't even know) and comments by an Australian "columnist" overrule the position of NASA, the US Academy of Science, the Academies of Science of the G8 nations and the world's assembled climate scientists---nor does he understand the theory of global warming, and why Plimer hasn't (and can't) "prove" it incorrect.

He just gather his nuts of denial, like the little squirrel-brain he is, and is allowed to deposit them at TLC for some reason.

"at last" should be "at least" in first sentence above

Posted by euzoius at June 28, 2009 05:43 AM

yeah I keep wondering what all the warming deniers are going to win?

is the door prize the ability to tread water forever?

or free air conditioning forever?

just what do you get when you prove all us lib'ruls are wrong for believing that obvious liar Al Gore?

I mean surely you must obviously be correct psycho-pete..

everyone acknowledges your superior intellect psycho-pete..

after all you still support dead eye dick head and his pet chimp and everyone can see how well thats succeeding and how wise that choice is....

Objective failure by their Repub heroes, and lack of success, correctness or accuracy of their conservative "predictions" or policies never phases these conservative white male turds, headx.

There's an aside up about peter's hero Plimer and his new denial book at RealClimate. Seems Plimer's Australian scientist colleagues are tearing his book up, finding it filled with errors and possible known lies, and declaring it science fiction at best.

So Plimer's book is a simple collection of climate science errors which have been debunked a hundred times before---RealClimate likens the situation to the movie GroundHog Day, where climate scientists have to keep responding to the same debunked talking points time after time after time, with denialists endlessly aided and abetted by the corporate press, the WSJ being first among them.

Eat that shit, peter, it's your favorite snack. Good doggie!

I guess since I work in IT and spend most of my time dealing in concepts like "logic" or Boolean datatypes, I am prone to mistakenly assuming other humans are acquainted with these concepts..
I guess I owe psycho-pete (patent pending) thanks for constantly reminding me that the right wing "brain", and I use that term loosely, cannot deal in either logic or common sense...

thanks psycho-pete (patent pending)

Thanks Euzo, you've proven the point. Now, go eat your Alpo.

Global warmer's are in it for the profit. Speaker Nancy's going to make a mint from this cap and trade scheme. So is Al Gore. Follow the money, folks, it's Democrats trying to fatten their bank accounts by pushing this cap and trade crap sandwich down our throats. Greenpeace doesn't like it. Progressive Dennis Kucinich doesn't like it, he's not in this for the money. Many global warmers seem to think there's too many exemptions. Picking winners are we now. More exempting our "friends" at the public's expense.

Posted by peter at June 28, 2009 10:12 AM

So now you have to post the same idiot quote twice, peter puke---that makes it twice as "effective", I guess.

Nothing written by your latest denialist hero Plimer has done anything to the scientific "debate", dogbrain. There is no "debate" going on, there is no alternate theory even proposed by actual climate scientists, or any other scientist, Plimer included.

And now the little doggie peter is diggin' in the right wing conspiracy garden for buried cat turds to gobble---yeah, the theory of global warming was "invented" by Al Gore to make him rich. And now Nancy P is in on it, too!

Eat your daily shit, peter. Hell, it's Sunday, take an extra helping and Praise Jeebus!

please Euzo, do not demean the noble canine by comparing them to something as revolting, useless, and ignorant as psycho-petie©...

even a brain dead dog exhibits more common sense and intellect than psycho-pete©...

Euzo, how come this administration is quashing the science as an EPA.pdf report that warned against making hasty "decisions based on a scientific hypothesis that does not appear to explain most of the available data." Load it up.

Euzo, read on page 6 following "The principal comments are as follows:" Our EPA, which our president has placed CO2 emission control, seems to be observing "global temperatures have declined- extending the current downtrend to 11 years...At the same time atmospheric CO2 levels have continued to increase and CO2 emissions have accelerated." There's even a reference to a "concensus is much more neutral, arguing that future Atlantic tropical cyclones will be little different from those in the past."

The even dispel your common belief that "The idea that warming temperatures will cause Greenland to rapidly shed its ice has been greatly diminished by new results indicating little evidence..."

That "A new 2009 paper by Scafetta and West suggest the IPCC used faulty solar data in dismissing the direct effect of solar variability on global temperatures." Imagine that, your/our EPA, following the science has a draft report reporting just a few of the new developments since 2006. And imagine that, our EPA sees a direct correlation between sun spots and global temperature fluctuations(p.7). Check out F on page 8, what a statement!!!!

No wonder the Obama administration wanted to continue the Bush practice of not following the "science".

Posted by peter at June 28, 2009 02:13 PM

heh so psycho-pete©... admits his hero the chimp was a science denier...

too bad your other assertion that President Obama denies reality is more of your psycho-pete©... bullshit...

so tell us psycho-petie©... just how long can you tread water?

Posted by headxray at June 28, 2009 02:28 PM

Probably long than you. I love to swim.

If you read the President's remarks Friday night after the House passed the measure most Capitol Hill staff and press referred to as the Waxman-Markey climate bill. You'll notice some words that the President never speaks: "climate," "warming," "greenhouse," "carbon," "cap-and-trade," or "emissions."

Does this reflect a White House perception that climate change is a losing issue?
