The "media" needs to start naming names and connect the no votes to campaign bribes from the interested powers that be.
Posted by TIKI AL at July 2, 2009 08:16 AMIt's not just the recent republiKKKon's who have usurped the Constitution and ruined the country and government it goes back all the way to tricky dick. And how may of the same criminals are still around? dead eye dick head and dumbsfeld for sure...ray-gun along with bush 1 sure did their share of damage..
Since 1968 they've been busy little beavers chipping away at civil rights, the Constitution in general, any and all SC decisions they dislike, such as Roe v Wade, succesfully rigging and stealing elections, suppressing minorities in every manner possible including voter suppression and gay rights suppression..shall I go on?
Iran Contra, Watergate ring a bell...darn I forgot the damage to the SC as in clowns like clarence "pubic hair" thomas or scalia...in short when I refer to the party of NO as the criminal party is it an exaggeration?
It is time we assertively, even aggressively stand against these greedy, entitled crooks..this is why I so vehemently despise trolls who represent business as usual for these psychopaths...
Something that is really scary...the huge upswing in gun and ammunition sales....somewhere somehow much of the populace has taken a psychotic turn reverting back or supporting old, discarded concepts...my older brother and sister tell me about seeing "white only" drinking fountains in southern states...we have made great progress from that, as shown by the last election, but there are still many who are xenophobic and racist.... not joe the plumber asks why we haven't hung Senator Dodd?
The younger generation may prove to be beyond a lot of the old thinking/values..we can only hope so..
Posted by headxray at July 2, 2009 08:21 AMYou stupid leftist are a product of your pot-head, hippy mom's and dad's who split when you were little. You don't have a grasp on reality and the democrat party is ruining the constitution more and more everyday. I think you need to quit watching katie Curic(Not taking the time to see if I spelled her worthless name right) and open your eyes to a broader perspective. A little history on my insight: former U.S. Navy personnel, current engineering student and strong conservative(Not Republican). But, you probably won't understand that either. Your man Obama has taken more rights away from the American public in six months, than any other president in U.S. history. CHECK YOUR FACTS, DON'T BE BLINDED. By the way, I am not a bible thumper either but I am from the midwest, and I do cling to my gun. hahaha, silly dem's you are all a disgrace to true america.
Posted by at July 2, 2009 08:35 AMOh dear. Looks like peter's not taking his rejection too well, is he? Now he's pretending to be a Navy vet. You'll notice there's not one FACT!! offered on which rights Obama's taking away.
How sad that these idiots are still fighting the DFHs that haven't been around for what, 40 years? And notice that yet another moran thinks waving his service around like a surrender flag precludes his having to present FACTS other than vague, silly accusations. But thanks for the laugh, li'l guy too scared of imaginary hippies to sign his name. Boo!
The mention of Katie Couric is a dead giveaway, too. This guy's been blinded by Palin's boobies, and is mad that someone leaked emails showing how unpatriotic she and her keeper, Todd really are. At least someone's trying to save Mr. Navy guy's party from itself. Not gonna happen, though. Conservative is now a dirty dirty word! Heehee!
Posted by Twinky P* at July 2, 2009 08:55 AMIt is sad that the GOP had to raid a summer kindergarten to replace peter.
Posted by TIKI AL at July 2, 2009 08:56 AM
Glad you mentioned that Twinky..maybe we can give
con-servative the same type of conotation the pukes gave l'brul....
geez I haven't seen a 3 year old throw a temper tantrum like that since....oh say petie was around...
funny and scary how degraded the con-servative
"intellect" has become...
Any other "civilized" nation allow morans like that to buy all the guns and ammo they want?
Posted by headxray at July 2, 2009 09:16 AMThe economy started to tank when Pelosi and Reid took over Comgress. Now the economy is getting worse with Obama.
Look at the job numbers today. Just a disgrace. Liberals are idiots.
Posted by Sue Falls at July 2, 2009 09:26 AM"The younger generation may prove to be beyond a lot of the old thinking/values..we can only hope so.."
well.....
in the 60's us hippies said as soon as "our generation" takes over politics from the Johnsons and Nixons, we'd fix everything -stop wars, stop corruption, stop anti-government government. Instead, "our generation" produces The Big Dog, and W. The basic problems - greed, power and racism - are still with us.
Anyone hoping that the next generation will do any better might need a head xray.
I know you are but what am I?
Boy, that charter summer kindergarten is just a goldmine for the GOP.
Posted by TIKI AL at July 2, 2009 09:34 AM"Look at the job numbers today. Just a disgrace" yeah....and to think that only 18 months ago George W. Bush was bragging about how he'd brought more jobs than any president. And it only took Obama 6 months to totally screw up everything Bush gave us in eight years of sound fiscal policy. Amazing.
Posted by T2 at July 2, 2009 09:37 AMT2: You would make a great kindergarten teacher!
Posted by TIKI AL at July 2, 2009 10:02 AMRepublicans may be evil, but at least they have the courage of their convictions. (It helps that their "ideas" are so simple-minded that even Sean Hannity can understand them.) When they see a political opening, they lay waste to the whole village, and damn the consequences. What do Democrats do? They tip-toe around looking for a Republican to hug. We're not going to make any progress until Democratic politicians start fearing the peons who vote for them.
Speaking of which--When are you Californians going to do something about Dianne Feinstein?
Posted by Rick at July 2, 2009 10:40 AM"courage of their convictions"
You mean like fiscal responsibility? Respect for the Constitution? Small government?
I would think that the last 8 years of the Republican agenda implemented under GWB, you would understand how historical convictions were where put on the shelf until now.
Posted by brisa at July 2, 2009 11:07 AMyou have a point T2..we did make noise for change that either hasn't occurred or quickly enough..
At this point I act when I can and I have to have hope in something....
There is some improvement..it may take to long though...
There DOES appear to be a lot more communication now with the internet and internet grassroots movements...look at the change in fund raising, whether it is effective in the long run remains to be seen...
Rick: I would like to have seen what the outcome of the 2000 election might have been if the Gore camp would have "laid waste" and kept on fighting ala Coleman for the presidency.
Posted by TIKI AL at July 2, 2009 11:23 AMheadxray, I confess that I have more faith in the current crop of youngsters than I might want to admit. I'm not sure it isn't more that I have faith in the "communication" you mention. The internet and all it's Twitters, Blogs, etc give a level of speed to communication that has never been there before, and with that speed, the ability to lie and deceive the public by Media hacks like Rush/Fox is subject to instant world-wide rebuke. Look at Iran's last few weeks. The Obama campaign used this new communication speed masterfully....photos of hundreds of thousands at his rallies were around the world instantly, as well as photos of cranky McOld doddering around a few folks at an old age home, and Palin making a fool of herself to Couric, no less. Naturally, it is the current young generation that most adeptly navigate this new age of "communication" and they stand a chance to be the beneficiaries.
Excellent post, paradox. I don't know how you separate DemocRats from republi-KKKons. After the lovely promises of each election the two parties morph and become the party of the PlutoKKK-Rats and the DemocRats largely vote the corporate and war interests every time, right in lockstep with the r-KKKons. The climate bill is proof of that, although it is better than nothing...I guess, maybe. Once the Senate is done with it I'm sure we'll have some new military death machine stuff covered in green stickers and solar panels.
A little history on my insight: former U.S. Navy personnel...
One of these two explains you: Either this or this.
So which is it? Are you an idiot, or a white supremacist? Maybe you're both an idiot AND a white supremacist! Well, maybe you aren't a white supremacist, but your writing leaves no doubt that you are really really stupid. Hey, while you're at your studies I think you'll need to provide more proof when arriving at your answers than you did in the crap you wrote here. Oh hell, don't worry about it. These guys will likely hire you.
Posted by phidipides at July 2, 2009 11:36 AManother very good point about the speed information and disinformation move...
isn't the average age of a fox network viewer over 50?
I know there are plenty of "young republiKKKons" to go around but I also see more overall acceptance for different races and esp I think for the gay community in the young...when I was in the Navy, for instance 30 years ago it was a sentence of doom to even be suspected of being gay....there will always be bigots and racists but I hope there really is improvement..
Where I grew up and come from one had to pretty much "unlearn" or grow out of some negative stereotypes..at least the schools I grew up attending have black students now..and I'm not from the deep south, but the midwest...
Posted by headxray at July 2, 2009 11:48 AMThe "media" needs to start naming names and connect the no votes to campaign bribes from the interested powers that be.
This will never happen because "the media" are among the most generous campaign bribers, "the media" earn their income from the remaining campaign bribers, and "the media" are in every sense the wholly-owned propaganda arm of the corporate ruling class.
What's worse, even if one were to put the facts before the public with names, dates, dollars, and votes, the public would do nothing about it. These are, after all, the people who elected, then re-elected the likes of George W. Bush and Governor Arnold. They are inured to the corruption and hypocrisy of American politics.
Posted by James E. Powell at July 2, 2009 12:54 PMThis will never happen because "the media" are among the most generous campaign bribers,
Not only that, they're willing to sell access - then pretend that's not what they're doing after they get busted for it!
Posted by Twinky P* at July 2, 2009 01:20 PMawwww...how sweet is she! Jenny Sanford is willing to take Mark back and make a go of it. Up til now, Jenny was getting rave reviews taking no crap on this sordid affair.....that's over....she's taking the crap. Maybe she can fly the Argentine girlfriend up to South Carolina and let her stay in the guest room. That way Mark could save air fair and nuzzle his "soulmate" while working out his problems with Jenny. Family Values for sure.
Posted by T2 at July 2, 2009 02:00 PMWAPO+"ethical purity"=oxymoron
Posted by headxray at July 2, 2009 02:09 PM"I seem to be very much in the minority in this stance, it seems."
LOL! You sure are. Even your credulous fellows aren't all that deranged. You may wnat to try some low dose Haldol-- you know, just to settle down the demons a little bit...
Posted by rob at July 2, 2009 03:21 PMLook at the job numbers today. Just a disgrace. Liberals are idiots.
Exactly. The dumb shit liberals got a time machine and went back to 2005 - 2007. And what did they do? Party? Buy stocks? Bet on horse races? Hell no! They used the time machine to cause 8.1 million people to lose their jobs during that time period. I say we should take the keys to the time machine away from those damn liberals...or maybe you should get your head out of your ass. Another 8.1 million lost their jobs from 2003 - 2005, and 11.2 million lost their jobs between 2001 -2003. You see, your head up your assholiness, you douche-nozzles were the single worst administration in American history when it came to jobs.
I know. They fed you a shit sandwich and you liked it, but it's about time to come up for some clean air. And a few actual facts wouldn't hurt you, either.
Posted by phidipides at July 2, 2009 07:55 PMI have feeling that Obama is going to fall far short of his campaign goals if he can't bring true reform to the congress. The congress is really the center of the problems and so far Obama has not been able to get them in line. Thus all these bills of watered down half measures are no where near a progressive agenda properly implemented. It doesn't matter if its republican or democrat they are both dirty and corrupt, throwing constituents needs under the bus for a few dollars to keep them in office or get a plum job to cash in on later. They only hear lobby money. We have some fundamental problems with our nation and the big cushion of wealth we used cover over the symptoms with is gone. If we don't change now, much greater US decline is certain. So far the change is really just more insiders and lobbyists shutting out and subverting the will of the majority. Of course it could all work out well but I think the first 6 months efforts are way short of what we were promised.
