butting in to the Beef with Breaking: Sarah Palin Resigns!
That's right. Heading to DC to promote physical fitness? Or does she need to get out before the North Korean missiles strike Alaska?
Or is she yet another of the unnamed women in Mark Sanford's active sex life? Or just a plain old meltdown? See Ya!
Great post Turkana.
You can also add the cost of converting millions of acres of productive lands, including rain forest (lost carbon sinks) for the purpose of cattle "ranching" which often destroys the lands biological value within decades. And, not only do the cereals and grains force fed to cattle for fatty "marbling", have a large carbon footprint, those high quality foods could be used to feed humans directly. Some reports peg the GHG contribution of all animal ranching, but especially beef! as 10% of total human output worldwide.
Why's the beef?
Posted by DeminNewJ at July 3, 2009 03:15 PMMankind has been increasing the production rates of meat producing animals for as long as man started eating meat. There has been a steady increase in the methane produced as a result but there has not been a steady increase in global temperatures. Take the last 6000 years and you will not find a correlation between the increase in animal production for food and global temperature increase.
This is just an attempt by those who dislike the eating of meat to create another red herring reason to push the vegan agenda.
