"There is no explicable military path forward" correct. However, the Military is in business to fight and they'll continue to lobby hard to keep doing just that. They will never say, "lets split". Seeing Obama is in a no-win on this, the GOP will push for continuing the "war" until they are certain a pullout will be framed as Obama's Lost War.
Karzai will line his pockets with U.S. millions while wretched souls hooked on Afghan heroin die in gutters around the world. Obama was a fool not to start pulling out of Afghanistan the second he took office, and he's certainly dragging his feet in Iraq. He'll look back and regret both.
There is no win to be had, no democracy to nurture. Not six months from now, six years from now.
