The fact that it's apparently unclear whether the Dems have 218(!) votes lined up at this late date is simply nauseating. That freshman Dems (like Kissel of all people) think they can even threaten to vote against this is simply beyond belief.
The bill was watered down considerably for the conservadems, the Blue Dogs "cost" charade was proven groundless by the CBO a dozen times, yet we don't have the ability (like DeLay) to tell these Blue Dogs "You'll vote for it and like it. Understand?"
Let's hope they aren't ever confronted by Bachmann's Ameri-Nazi Party for real. They can't even overawe their own whiners.
A vote against this bill should be declared (privately) to be a vote against the party on its signature issue, and anyone voting against it will be stripped of all committee assignments, and party funding for re-election. A non-person.
Posted by euzoius at November 6, 2009 03:15 PMWhile I don't want to see the Democrat's turn into lockstep nazi's ala dimwit t delay I agree whole heartily with euzo that party discipline should be enforced as much as it takes to get recalcitrant's on board..
I think the fact/reason there exists any doubt on having enough votes for passage speaks volumes on the degree of corruption of the Congress by fascist corporations like the insurance industry, big pharma, and energy.
There should be little doubt that what is faced is fascism at its worst...
Non person, persona non gratia is quite a good direction to move in to insure passage.
