The poll is impressive but there was an attempt to "freep" it. Make no mistake, the poll is still significant.

Come on people. EVERY time there's a DEM blip on the radar, we get terrorist warnings. This time its gonna happen... don't know where, when, why, or how, but its gonna happen. Let me take that reasoning to work with me one day and see how long I stay employed.
Ridge is better off saying we're all gonna die man (in his best Bill Paxson in Aliens 2 voice) don't know where, when, why, or how, but we're all gonna die. Quick get your duct tape and plastic sheeting.
How fcuking incompetent can these people continue to be and how much longer are the common folk gonna play dupes and continue to fall for this sh*t?

Yet the same time you also what to get rid of the patriot act. You can't have it both ways. How are they to do their jobs with their hands tied behind their backs? You are to worried about offending someone's civil rights more than you are protecting our ass. Your always talking about sacrifice right? Well here you go.
There is something I am missing evidently. A terrorists attack, I would think, would be at the Republican Convention. After all, Bush is the one who is searching for Osama Bin Ladin and members of al-Queda, right? This is Bush's war, right? Then why would the Democratic Convention be targeted, as I have heard more than once by our "missing in action" media. Two and two is not making four for me.

Your making is sound like your on their side.
Democrat/Republican/Independent...we are all evil Americans in their sick and twisted minds.

Because, as the logic goes, terrorists would prefer to battle against an extremist, ideologically inflexible government. A Kerry administration would likely make life more difficult for Al Qaeda by rebuidling alliances and by attempting to restore America's reputation as a bastion of freedom rather than an arrogant imperialist superpower.

I'm talking about the vague threat of an attack, but if you so choose we can go there...
Believe it or not you can enforce laws without interfering with civil liberties. Do you KNOW the Patriot Act. It was a knee jerk reaction to a bad situation.
Are you ok with say, my making a claim you are a terrorist and say the FBI scans your library history, insurance history, credit history (which could lower your rating) driving records, hell could even find out what color your sig other's underwear were the night before, are you ok with that?
Are you aware that they are now using the Patriot Act to identify SUSPECTED drug dealers or use it to gather information on say NV residents for say suspected/ alleged racketeering charges?
Umm but it is not used or it is not reported as being used to sniff out the domestic terrorists...
Did you know this? And if you did and you are still ok with the Patriot Act as it stands...
well here's your sign.
Did you know this?
No. I did not.
Let me sum up what you just said...They are using the Pat. Act to catch criminals.
No, Pessimist, Tom Ridge isn't a terrorist.
Jesus Christ.
I only recently came across the anti-American Michael Moore's critique of the atrocities of 11 September 2001. He said that the hijackers had picked the wrong people to kill that day because none of them had voted for George W. Bush. See? Republicans are worth killing.
Does Tom Daschle know who he gave a big hug to at the premiere a few weeks ago? Maybe there's pictures.
Albatross! Albatross!

Posted by Toby Petzold at July 9, 2004 06:48 PMAnd now for something completely different...
Posted by pessimist at July 9, 2004 09:08 PMYou would think that any administration, Repub or Demo, would do anything to cover their rear ends, in case there was an attack. Otherwise, they face the opportunity of testifying before a committee of dottering senile fools, aka the 9-11 commission, and being asked to explain why they were not prepared. I would expect the Kerry administration to do the same, if they did not, then their intelligence should be questioned. You cannot have your cake and eat it also. I can call the 9-11 commission dottering senile fools, because I qualify for that title.
