Charles Garland the eccentric 1920's millionaire who gave up his inheritance to fund progressive programs gave the NAACP $100,000 in the 20's to pay for court challenges. Garland had his commune April Farm in Southern Lehigh Co. The Sunday Inquirer was almost totally devoted to the convention, and Kerry should get a lot of coverage in the local media come Thursday.
