It is an unspoken/hidden plan by the GOP in Congress and Bush to kill Security and Medicare but in order to kill those 2 programs, they must inflate the deficits and national debt such that 4 or 5 years down the road, they can say to our seniors, sorry, we can't fund these programs anymore because of our debt.

CBO estimates the current unfunded liability for SS is $7.2 trillion. The unfunded liability for medicare is estimated to be $37.6 trillion.
