Comments: Consumer Confidence Levels Off

Steve, I don't know which stock market you refer to, but my modest investments have ditched over the last quarter. Wait until folks get their 3rd Quarter statements in a week or so and find out the truth about this great "recovery". I just find it hard to believe that the people who voted against Bush in 2000 will turn around and vote for him this time, but if you believe some of the polls, that's just whats happening.....seems fishy to me.

Steve: I hope we stop trying to explain poll numbers. Bush is now leading. I dunno by how many points but Bush is certainly ahead. Just like the SWB fiasco proved, something bad must happen to Bush in order for Kerry to regain the lead.

Focusing on Bush's records will help. Kerry also have to produce better ads. Current batches are awful. MoveOn ads are also awful, just a waste of money. I like latest DNC ad, compare and contrast.

We have not seen Kerry's answers to Bush's ad on health care, flip-flop issues etc...very discouraging when you have 230mil then wasted on stupid consultants, warm and fuzzy ads. The race is certainly not over but its getting late.

Kerry's going to win. Bush will carry his base, but the rest of us will go into those voting booths (in record numbers ) and pull the lever for a course correction.

Forget the polls. Anyone who can't sense the sea change welling up all around us probably didn't see those hurricanes coming either.
