MSNBC - Lester Holt Live - Conducting Survey Now: Was John Kerry's remarks regarding Mary Cheney appropriate or inappropriate?
Posted by Sabe at October 15, 2004 02:28 PMYes Cohen and many of the rest of the Media/Press got to see the Real Bush in the debates. And yes, it was scary. But it is these same men and women that have either been told to, duped into, fooled by, or otherwise decided to ignore the obvious over the last few years. They are the ones who created the Wizard of Bush, great Leader and War President. Well, guess what, it was there all along for all to see who wanted to. If the Cohen's among us are just now noticing they have been wrong.......incompetent is too weak an adjective for them. And from me they'll get no sympathy for their ignorance. The fact that many Americans still support the Dunce President is purely their fault.
Posted by T2 at October 15, 2004 02:43 PMI note there have been at least 10 Americans killed in Iraq in the last two days - and that the morgues in Iraq continue to be overwhelmed with bodies, even the one in the Green zone - and I read that 17 members of an Army Reserve Platoon have been arrested and imprisoned in Iraq, because the Sergeant refused to send his platoon on an assigned 'suicide' mission because his people had no proper protection or proper transportation - and I also read this is not a rare occurence -
and then I turn in late on the Lehrer New Hour, and Jim is asking David Brooks if the Mary Cheney story is going to continue big - and Brooks starts off stating that it will indeed remain a big story !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At that point, I cannot stand the disconnect - nor the TV - and I turn it off.
I go to the blogs and find that I did miss something on TV today - it was Crossfire with Jon Stewart as guest! -- and evidently Jon told Tucker Carlson in no uncertain terms how TV and Crossfire had failed the public.
Crossfire has no reruns, but there is some downloading possible on the blogs.
I got the same feeling watching the debates. Kerry dished out serious punishment and Bush seemed to get smaller everytime he answered a question.
I think the media doesn't understand the words of Patton or George C Scott: "America loves a winner and WILL NOT tolerate a loser". Three times Bush debated.. lost all three convincingly.
