I am paralyzed with despair right now. I may not recover, in fact. My bounce-back ability is flacid, lacking in elasticity from overuse.
But I do love all of you who continue to tell the truth. Thank God you're there, and I would rather be defeated than have the "values" of a Christian fundamentalist, or a war-monger, or a power-groveling media whore.
Posted by Raenelle at November 6, 2004 01:02 PMvery disjointed and hard to follow post. the writing on this site is usually better.
Posted by kevin at November 6, 2004 01:13 PMKevin, everyone is doing a lot of 'stream of consciousness'. Yeah, it seems unorganized, but we are Democrats---we don't belong to an 'organized party'. But, we've been more organized this past year than we've been in many a' year. We have to use it NOW. The more ideas, the better. And 'stream of consciousness' is good right now. Don't give me 'stream of consciousness' just before the next election. But for right now it's just fine.
Posted by Babba at November 6, 2004 02:12 PMLooking at the results at uselectionatlas.org, Kerry received far more votes in almost every state than did either Clinton or Gore at any one time. He did his best but now it's time for everyone to read Thomas Frank's book "What's the Matter With Kansas?" and hijack the right-wing NAZI Bush media before this wonderful country suffers the same defeat that Germany suffered in 1945 because unlike Germany, the damage done to the USA will be irreversible !

Posted by Save America at November 6, 2004 02:44 PMThe views of retired Colonel Douglas MacGregor on the News Hour were incredibly chilling regarding the desirability of annihilating and razing Fallujah.

It sounded like something we would condemn Saddam or the late Assad of Syria for doing when they brutally suppressed insurrections. And in two months, I'm sure the fathers, brothers, mothers and sisters of those killed in razing Fallujah will be just delighted to vote in American sponsored elections. This is an insane policy. I lived through Vietnam. Won't we ever learn?
Posted by Ben Brackley at November 6, 2004 04:05 PMI'm concerned about the Dems options too though - not in the idiot Brooks way though. I'd love to have them block every effort of BushCo's but it does leave a bad taste in the nation's mouth. How do they stop bad legislation without appearing to be obstructionist for the sake of obstructionism? How do they get their message out? There's a question they're good at failing to answer.

Come on Ben. The fundamentalist conservatives are doing this for the love of their god, not Saddam's god. It's completely different when you raise cities and kill civilians in the name of the fundamentalist conservative god. That god demands a blood sacrifice through the death penalty and killing civilians and the like. But don't let that fool you, that god also demands that no ova or sperm be wasted. And that god also demands that unwanted babies be left to rot. It's a tough double standard, but hey, it's a mysterious god, too.
In the love of the mysterious fundamentalist conservative god, may you be put to death if you waste sperm. Amen.
