Comments: Specter's Spectre

Ahahahahahahahahahaha! "Senate Moderates will be the brakes on Bush's Second Term". Only if the Bushies can't pull out before the moderates assholes lock up. They are their beeeeeches!

Of all the ways we could reach out without compromising principles, if we could get three ofr four of these folks to switch parties, then oppsie-daisy! There goes Bush's man dates.

It could ruin his social calendar completely.

How long will the moderate Republicans pay to dance with the Devil?

Surely some of these moderate voices are motivated by principles, and not just blind obedience to the diktats of mein fuhrer? If not, they would have been in bed with the neo-cons long ago.

Maybe they actually have some concept of honor and right-and-wrong? A noble vision of patriotism, and of their duty to the country, or even to the party, rather than to Georgie Karl Rove Bush?

I would have to believe that Specter expected exactly the reaction that he got. As long as people like him are still willing to speak out anyway, and be the voice of moderation, there is still hope. I'm going to hold on to that hope for a while.
