Currency devaluations do not work. It failed under James Baker and the Lourdes accord in the '80's. You end up with higher inflation and subsequent interest rate increases to defend the currency. This scenario will end economic growth.

Don't count on the asian "tigers" to prop up the dollar indefantily, they're already warning of decreasing their purchases of US bonds.
Even more ominous, they may get serious about detaching their currencies from the ours. The dollar could go into free fall which leads to hyperinflation. I'm not aware of any nation that has gone through hyperinflation without severe political as well as economic crises. If anyone has an example please post it, the cable news is too depressing.
