I'm confident these "celebrated" cases are only the tip of the iceberg. Both O'Reilley and Limbaugh have probably committed numerous felonies in their arrogance and ego. They have every right to believe they're above the law, since it's damned sure no "mainstream" media outfit will touch them with a 2,000 ft. pole. Anyone else can be dismissed as a conspiricist looney and the whole story buried in 2 weeks.

The remarkable unfolding story on dailykos regarding Gannongate might be a model we could use for this kind of case as well. With hundreds of variously talented and dedicated investigators turning their attention to the crimes and follies of right-wing Nazgul, maybe we could uncover enough evidence to take it to court. Anything that helped crack the monolithic media control constructed by the religio-right would be of outstanding value.

I think he'll walk on this. Maybe he'll OD first and save us all the trouble. I listen to his show to know the other side, and often, very often, he's obviously speed-balling. Opiates and speed, a lovely combination.

LImbaugh is a symptom. If he gets thrown in jail, Michael Savage or the like will rise up to fill the niche.

Everyone knows whether they admit it or not that a Bush or a Limbaugh will be treated as a "sick person" for a drug charge. A working person will most often be treated as a criminal.

If Jeb has his eyes on higher office, he might be willing to let Limbaugh hang himself. It would demonstrate "independence" and it would be a clear message to the conservabots that loyalty doesn't mean allowing him to be tainted by association. Jeb may not be interested (now) in the presidency, but there are any number of appointed offices he might want that could lead to something bigger in the future. he also might be interested in the Seante.

I've seen people like him turn on their cronies when it serves their interest. Despite my stronger feeling that Fatboy will walk, I also see the possibility of this alternative scenario coming to pass.

Rich may have a point, they may see Rush as a worn out tool. They can always bring in Michelle Malkin to fill up his space on the airways. The ditto heads would love that fascist wingnut.
