You got that right Steve. Let's see, we went to war so that Iraqi and Iranian Ayatolla's could control a large part of middle east oil and start the backward stepping process of taking away from Iraqi women further possibilities for equal treatment with men. Conclusion, G.W. Bush = f*ck-up & many Americans are f*ck-ups.
Posted by at February 13, 2005 11:24 AMOk, so the people chose the government they wanted and that's bad so blame Bush.
If the results had been the other way, the election was rigged, so blame Bush.
If there was no war and Saddam was still murdering his people, then it would have been genocide, so blame Bush.
Just wanted to be clear on the songbook.
Posted by Joe at February 13, 2005 11:42 AMJoe, Blame Clinton for 911, Sadam, The economy, I just wanted to make sure I have your songbook Right!!!

Posted by goose1 at February 13, 2005 12:02 PMSaddam= Genocidal Dictator
North Korea= So bad, people have to eat grass
Saddam= NO WMDs
North Korea= Nukes
Bush conclusion:
Iraq: invade
Iran: negotiate (maybe)
North Korea: ignore (maybe pretend not to later...but just maybe)
Yeah, they delayed the final results three days and then announce that the Shiites have less than a majority. You betcha.
Posted by at February 13, 2005 12:24 PMIt is amazing to me to see how effective Chalabi has been in playing off one side against the other. First he had the CIA going, and then when they decided he was conning them, it was the the noecons who became his patrons. Then they got burned because he was playing pals with Iran and persona non grata in the WH's book. Now that Iraq had their election, he's sitting pretty. Amazing, just amazing.
Posted by Mary at February 13, 2005 12:26 PMIt looks like BUSH was RIGHT again. The Elections a success -- Jordon and Sadia Arabia are now SLOWLY moving toward more democratic governments.
DOMESTIC -- CLASS ACTION REFORM PASSES, 2 Senate DEMOCRATICS are now moving towards Partial Privatizing od SOCIAL SECURITY!!!
Steve and Pess (the thought police)
You can keep trying to ban me but it will never work!!!
Posted by ROOF at February 13, 2005 12:26 PMHow did the Christians do in Iraq? Since democracy is just the first step in turning that country into a Christian empire like the United States, I think we need to track these results. And if the Christians didn't do so well, I think we need to kill a lot more Iraqis. If we've learned anything here in the U.S. it's that the idea of Christianity isn't enough to get the job done: we need to fix bayonets to make it stick.

As usual, what on earth are you talking about?
Posted by Steve Soto at February 13, 2005 02:08 PMI’m sure with Chalabi and al-Sistani in charge in Iraq, there won’t be many more secret drone surveillance flights over Iraqi air space into Iran either.
Steve, the Pentagon doesn't need any technological surveillance of the Middle East; they have Ahmed Chalabi, the single greatest human intelligence resource EVER. (Although, to be fair, we're not technically sure he's working for us.
Posted by Matt Davis at February 13, 2005 02:08 PMwe're not technically sure he's working for us.
I assure you, my friend, that i am completely supportive of the policy and strategic goals of the government of iran, i mean united states

Posted by The Real Joe at February 13, 2005 04:31 PMI doubt it; Toby's never shown any aversion to posting crazy, stupid shit under his own byline before.
Posted by Matt Davis at February 13, 2005 05:04 PMShouldn't we file this under "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."?
