Guys like Bush worm their way into the White House, in part, because people hate the "Politicians in Washington," and they pose as straight-shooting outsiders. I don't know how to read this--aren't Repubs just pissed at those "obstructionist Dems"?
Posted by Paul at March 16, 2005 11:02 AMI'm sorry, but who the hell are these people that voted for these guys and then turn around 5 months later and say they are doing a good job?
are not
Posted by at March 16, 2005 11:17 AMYes Paul, Bush ran in 2000 as a Washington Outsider. This despite the fact his *father* had been President, Vice President, head of CIA and he,W, had worked as a "fixer" in the Bush WH. Clearly not a Washington Outsider...BUT the Media let him get away with it because they are in the GOP pocket. Just like the let him call himself a Texan when in reality he was born in New England and attended an Ivy League university. He wormed his way into the WH by lying and the Media let him. Nothing has changed to this day.

i remember a couple years back dear leader was visiting CT for some reason (lieberman backrub?). the media conveniently forgot to mention that CT is where he was born (and where grandpa prescott was a US senator)
also he was a cheerleader at phillips andover academy, one of the most elite prep schools in the country.
and he's afraid of horses.

hmmm...doesn't that actually make you wonder just a little more about the method of counting the votes that we have today???
I mean voting is well and good, and we know the rethugs have harassed voters and squelched voting rights and availibility for decades, but isn't the counting and who counts and how it is counted what actually matters?
Posted by John B. at March 16, 2005 12:13 PMHow much does gas cost in Hawaii?
As far as drilling in Alaska.....I really don't see that it's so bad environmentally......they drill test wells in winter time while it's iced over....in the spring you don't even know they were there.......the only real reason to not drill is that there just isn't much oil there.....which we don't know right now. This is one where I don't go along with my liberal buddies......let's drill....it's not going to be the end of the world folks.
Posted by Leviathan at March 16, 2005 12:40 PMJohn B: polls say that 56% of the public thinks the country is on the wrong track, and only 49% think Bush is doing a good job, and a majority doesn't think he shares their priorities, which are just about the exact percentages most polls showed before the Kerry/Bush election? But through some miracle, on Election Day, and Election Day only, 52% voted for him. Then went right back to not liking him. I guess God intervened for that day.

Until they come back to actually remove the oil they've found.
How do you think they get that oil out of there?
By the force of George Bush's will?
Posted by at March 16, 2005 12:52 PMJohn B., I had the same thought.
