Comments: About That Grand Jury...

Buzzflash has a good article on the reality behind the DeLay situation. In a nutshell, DeLay is calling too much attention to the maniacal nature of today's GOP and White House, and also stealing the headlines from George W. Bush. Rove will not tolerate either of those and is orchestrating the eventual ouster of DeLay. He will, however, seek to make the Dems look like the firing squad so as not to anger the Nutbase.

One important thing to consider in all this is that DeLay forced through the redistricting in Texas before the last election, so a number (I dare not say many, not knowing for sure) of his constituents are new to him. Even though I am not in his district, I have sent financial support to his primary Democratic challenger -- and ask others to do the same if possible. It's bad enough having DeLay in the House -- but it's even worse being his district neighbor here in Texas. One example, if I may. After years of trying to get one little light rail line through the center of Houston, DeLay and his posse tried to stop it even after construction had started and millions had been spent. They weren't successfull, but FOX and other media continue to play up every accident involving light rail . . . even when (which is 99.9% of the time) the idiots driving were at fault and would have been hit by something -- bus, SUV -- had the light rail not been there.

Richard Morrison has a chance to beat this guy. I'm doing my best to help. Houston will be a better city and Texas a better state the sooner he is out of power and out of office.

Oh, and it would help if all the bushes moved back to Conneticut or Maine or wherever the hell they came from. But I can only dream about that.
