Comments: Around the ‘Zines and Sites

I see that The New Republic requires payment in order to gain access to their articles. I wonder if you could kindly summarize what's in them -- especially the one by Peter Beinert, which points in the direction of a cover-up.

This blog rocks.

Clinton: I smoked, but I didn't inhale..

Bush: I got the intelligence, but I didn't read it..

The Nation piece you point to about Kelly was actually written by John Nichols.

Still a good piece.

Thanks edub for the catch. Correction made.

That David Corn article in the Nation is very troubling.

The gist of the article is that the Bush administration has outted Wilson's wife as a CIA operative in order to "punish" Ambassador Wilson for admitting that he was the original debunker of the Niger-Iraq Uranium caper.

The White House didn't so much smear Wilson as deliberately complicate and possibly endanger his wife's life. If she actually was a CIA "asset," isn't it likely that the White House has compromised CIA operations?

Can anyone explain to me why the Republicans are considered more trustworthy on national security?
