Comments: Today Should Be A Holiday!

Pessimist, I know this is off subject, but thought this was important to get out to everyone.

In the next 10 days the Republican leadership is planning to pull the trigger on their scheme to break the rules of the Senate, seize absolute power over judicial appointments, and stack the courts with extreme judges. Overnight, some of our most treasured rights, like the 40-hour work week, basic environmental protections, and the right to privacy, would be in danger. We must act.

Cut and paste the following and send a letter to one of the choices:

pess, In my neck of the woods it is a holiday...called Patriots Day and is celebrated on Monday. New England "Patriot" (not the football team) tradition calls for an early scheduled Red Sox home game (11:00 am) that ends and usually coincides with the leading Boston Marathoners arrival toward the finish line which is just nearby Fenway Park. I have been fortunate in years past to take part in that tradition and it is a great time and full of excitement. But there is also the traditional reenactment event at Lexington Green for those who enjoy the true historical angle to this which is also interesting to attend.

If you said the words Lexington and Concord to most Americans they'd have no idea what you were talking about. The sad state of knowledge of their own national history is part of the reason people in this country are so complacent in acquiescing to the erosion of their freedoms and the control of their lives.
