I know who it ain't. John Dvorak or David Brooks. Both managed to post columns up in the last day that proved how they're birds of a feather, just in different fields of punditry trolling. (I refuse to post links - that would be rewarding bad behaviour.)
Posted by idiosynchronic at April 21, 2005 07:17 AMMy favorite philosopher is Jesus, because he taught us all that the important thing is not self-righteous adherence to dogma, but caring about--and sharing with--our fellow human beings. Which is interesting, because the "Christian" Right seems to have been reading a different guy.

Posted by muckdog at April 21, 2005 09:25 AMThank you Mary! I posted this in a comment on Angry Bear. Please see if it deserves a main page post here on TLC. Kinda spooky ...
UK Petroleum Review Editor Chris Skrebowski's Oilfield Megaprojects Report has come to be regarded as a new and vital milepost on the way to Peak Oil. For Global Public Media, Julian Darley asks Chris to explain the complexities of global depletion and new supply, and why he thinks that this year may well be the year of Peak Oil.

That said, sup wit this Greenspan announcement and the market is up? Short term profit taking?
Posted by Roy Batty at April 21, 2005 10:24 AMLooking back, someone might misinterpret my comment as an endorsement of Plato (as a favorite philosopher). Let me clarify:
Strauss was channeling Plato with comments on lying to the unwashed. As was Luntz. If you happen to have been a student at one of the institutions or academic departments controlled by this bunch (a large chunk of Claremont-McKenna, Ashland U, Boston U, etc.), you will be repeatedly exposed to the Republic and trained as if you are going to be outside the cave. This is the neo-con philosophical underpinning. It is the foundation of the entire house of cards.

If only for myself, who am I?
If not now, when? - Hillel
