Comments: Colin Powell Starts His Payback Against The Neocons

Bet if Colin was still SecState he'd be singing Bolton's praises though. Don't recall him bucking his bosses that often in an illustrious career of boot-licking and apple-polishing.

Personally I'll never forgive him for lying through his teeth presenting his laughable "evidence" for invading Iraq to the UN before the war.

The question of Powell's intent will be clear inside 36 hours. Will he recant ("I was misquoted") as most all of those who have spoken out against Bush have done. Or will he let this go. Either way, he has supplied cover for Bolton's nomination to be scuttled. Second question is whether the GOP Senators already on record as questioning this nomination have the guts to vote against Bush. If so........welcome to the Flight of the Lame Duck.

The administration will defend Bolton up to the minute he suddenly withdraws his name.

DimSon used Powell like a two-bit whore and damaged his reputation. Powell is now out to get DimSon, the fireworks will be amazing to watch.

Hopefully the Voinovich statement in committee was the 'Joseph Welch' moment we've all been waiting for - same riveting television, same dumbfounded look on Lugar's face when it became clear that things weren't going according to script and the same sense that finally someone had spoken truth to power.

Is it even possible to damage Shrub's foreign policy image overseas further?

Outside of Israel, I think he and his policies are already universally reviled.

Is this much of a surprise? Powell never wanted Bolton over at State, but had him forced on him by the neo-cons (Bolton was there to keep an eye on Powell for them). You can't blame Colin for wanting payback against the milk moustached turd.

Sooner or later karma runs over dogma.

Well, shit, I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY with Mr. Ran in the first post. I can't forget either, how the Colin caughed and barfed nervously in that little ol' speech he gave to the UN!!! He's an old whore, and who cares what he does?
