Just another outrage de jour.
Posted by Judith at April 23, 2005 06:01 AMWill this be like the bidding that occurred recently in New York City for the West Side railroad yards wherein the Metropolitan Transit Authority headed by Pataki's boys awarded the deal to the New York Jets when they submitted the lowest bid? Kewl! Ain't crony capitalism great! And we wonder why the Sandanistas had no problem overthrowing Somoza.

At $300 billion for Iraq alone, we are going to have to sell a lot of shit to pay for it. But I'm thinking that this is good for the superior capitalist lifestyle. Those who can afford it (or are well connected) get it, screw the other slovenly bastards who go into those low paying professions. You know, teaching and the like. If they can't be stockbrokers, well, that just shows their mental inferiority and lack of capitalist zeal. Besides, we need some condos on the south rim of the Grand Canyon. We can use dynamite and blast a mess of flat spots for parking and the 7-11s.
And look at the superiority of the idiot son of George Bush. He worked hard and achieved a bunch. It's hard work blowing Saudi princes and the like. And your face has to smell like Saudi asscrack. That's got to be tough. And his dad's buddies don't always return the calls. But hard work does pay off. And along the way he developed a real social conscience...if he understood what that means.

There's always the spare "smart" bombs we have lying around.
But seriously $300 billion isn't that much money anymore -- we spent more than that on interest every year.
Posted by Marie at April 23, 2005 03:41 PMInterest this year will be 550 billion alone! We are talking about some real ducks there. But you know Marie, the wealthy got their tax break. And even though those making under $400,000. a year are carrying the freight for the upper tier and businesses, we should be happy the wealthy allow us to live in this country. It could be worse, they might ship us all off to a prison colony for stealing the air we breath. Nawww! That's silly! They'll pollute us and under-health care us until we're dead. That's cheaper.

Actually, we're not. At least not yet as we haven't been asked to make any payments towards the principle on the USA credit card. In fact, the principle is increasing.
Most on the right think only about the short term consequences like GWB, "In the long run, we'll all be dead." Therefore, they focus on accumulating as much power and money as quickly as possible because that will insure that they and their families will never have to experience the long term consequences of what they are doing. They really don't care if the rest of us live or die, but they do care if we live that we do so as low wage workers.
Posted by Marie at April 24, 2005 10:48 AMBoy, Marie, do you have that right. That is why the neocons are attempting to dismantle the middle class. Don't want no uppity serfs, ya know?
