For every instance you give for a non liberal media, someone can give you an example for a liberal one. This issue must really bother you that you have spent this much time on this subject. Just keep denying it, plug your ears and say LA LA LA LA and maybe it will go away. I don't know why you can't admit the media is biased to the left and move on. The rest of American has accepted the fact.
Posted by Right Coaster at April 26, 2005 11:39 AMIn election 2004 31% of the population voted for Bush. Another 29% voted for Kerry, and the remaining 40% are lost in space. They don't have a clue as to whether the media is liberal or not.
"The rest of the country," at 31%, simply hates the truth and will do anything to keep their filthy political tactics hidden or obscured. That's purely the reason the GOP scum ever whined about the "liberal media;" it reported the truth and they simply can't stand it.
The GOP values the truth like Stalin and Hitler did--if it's useful, use it, and if it's not lie and obfuscate as much as possible.
I don't know why liberal columnists are such weenies, to use the polite term. I'd give a lot to know.
Thanks for that Confessore/Somerby post--I read it at the time but had forgotten how truly absurd it was. Confessore is a good journalist, but it was extremely painful to see the denial at work here. Look, Nick, you signed up for a career amongst a pack of utter jokers who are held in total contempt by anyone who can think. Journalists are scum and you're one of them. Get used to it and stop this incredible embarrrassment of trying cover for them. That piece by far will be the low point of Confessore's career.
Posted by paradox at April 26, 2005 12:16 PMRC after 8 years of know everything Clinton did How can you say the media has a liberail bias with a straight face? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Phame, Gannon, Sibel Edmons(sp) Would be front page daily if Clinton were the President. That IS A FACT.

Response:
What I'm pointing out is that conservative bias is much more frequent than liberal bias and that typical claims of liberal bias are hokum.

You bet this issue bothers me a lot. An accurate media is the very foundation of democracy. If it doesn't bother someone, then that's a problem in itself.

This is the same tripe that I debunked here if you had actually read my series (it's clear you didn't). The "rest of America" has not accepted your "fact".
Paradox,
I know you are upset with the media and journalists in general, but we can't solve the problem of media inaccuracy without the help of good journalists (and there are good ones around). In the last installment of this series, I will try to provide a different perspective - that of a (hypothetical) honest journalist - so you can see the crux of the problem and how we need to approach it in order to solve it.
Posted by eriposte at April 26, 2005 06:02 PMIf you believe that fox(faux) news is conservative....
Please explain why a conservative station is having such success if ALL the media is conservative.
Only an idiot couldn't understand that a different (conservative) point of view is the reason fox is enjoying such great ratings.
Keep insisting that the media is conservative biased.... everytime you say it another democrat becomes a "south park conservative."
Don't forget, the worse president ever was re-elected ONLY because of the words and hate from the extreme-left-wing alienated the general population (the people in the middle that don't blindly follow party lines)

Response:
I think anyone with an iota of a brain can figure out that no two media outlets are exactly the same. There are different degrees of conservatism.
But that's not even the point.
As long as there is a strongly right-wing base, strongly right-wing media will prosper. It is also to Fox's advantage to claim that the other media are "liberal" so that they can continue to bamboozle their viewers to spending their dollars or attention on them instead of their competition. This is Marketing 101.
You are welcome to be bamboozled into thinking they are the only ones that are conservative. Rupert Murdoch and Sean Hannity are raking it in thanks to folks like you.

Response:
Really? Well, ain't that just too bad. I'm not running for office, I'm here to tell the truth.
Actually, now that I think about it - this may be right for them. After all, if people dislike the truth, then they certainly have a party to turn to whose platform is based on a culture of lying - the GOP.

Response:
Glad you agree that the guy at the White House is the "worst president ever". See, it's easy to be sensible :-)
But, more importantly, the worst president ever gets elected because of the people who elect the worst president ever. It's called "democracy" remember? If they're willing to re-elect the worst president ever, that says something about them, rather than the "left-wing".
eriposte,
hate to break your heart but you really did not debunk anything. but it always feels good to think you did.
Posted by at April 27, 2005 07:04 AMAnonymous,
It's always nice to see posts from people who don't care about facts. This is great because it makes it a lot easier for me to convince people who think - because the critics literally have nothing to say other than empty claims devoid of facts. Keep it coming!
