Comments: Are the Dems beginning to get it?

Moran: He wants to dismantle a program that defines what the Democrats are proudest of. That’s what this is about. The Republicans—almost all of them—opposed Social Security when it was proposed by Franklin Roosevelt. Almost all of them opposed Medicaid. They voted against Medicare in 1965. So these are programs that provide a safety net for the poor and I think the Republicans basically resent the poor and they figure if we can get the poor investing in the stock market, maybe they’ll start thinking like Republicans. God help us.

I don’t think it’s the taxation system that bothers them, it’s the safety net. They believe in survival of the fullest (or fittest).

So, according to Moran and others there is not a problem with SS. When I read articles such as Moran's, I become more enraged at the Democrats. Why in the hell don't they stand up and say the truth about Bush's wanting to dissolve this program. I cannot believe that millions in this Country would go not go ballistic if they knew the truth of Bush's hidden agenda.

The article also reminded me once again that this President lives in the world of the elite and money. It confirms, once again, that the Sports Section of the newspaper is by far more important than the lives of millions of Americans. May you rot in hell GWB.

OK, that Moran guy Rocks. Why is it so hard for Dems to just open their mouths and say this stuff?

And the biggest ass-kisser of all is Dick Cheney. - mega-friggin' dittos. That is beautiful.

That is also why asbestos reform is so "important".

Matt:

Moran is an okay congressman but he got into trouble a while back for some "antisemitic" remarks or something. I can't really remember what he said, but people made a big deal about it.

Oh, I see. He's one of those guys who just shoots off his mouth...

Well, this particular impolitic statment needed to be said.

Moran is pretty cool. I heard him interviewed on Ed Schultz yesterday. He's a big talker, a guy who's not afraid to say anything.
