So many traitors.

Saudi Arabia outraged at Koran desecration. Still apathetic about terrorism, Iraq beheadings.

Irony?

Posted by bigdog at May 13, 2005 12:06 PM

Steve,

Why are you bringing this to my attention? Can't you let me be content with Michael Jackson's trial and Paula Abdul's affair?

Get with the program, buddy. Abdul's the real issue here, not this Iraq thing. By the way, where the hell is Iraq? Never heard of it.

Posted by MisterOpus1 at May 13, 2005 12:20 PM

bigdog
And your hero holds hands with terrorists! Absolutely disgusting. Bush rewards the Sauds with favorable treatment for supporting terrorism!

Posted by ga6thdem at May 13, 2005 12:22 PM

America outraged over gay marriage. Still apathetic about torture, lies leading to war.

Idiots?

Posted by Matt Davis at May 13, 2005 12:25 PM

Irony? Maybe.

Most likely it's just a f__ked up sense of right and wrong. Come on...these idiots still stone people to death!

Someone needs to go back in time and shoot the S.O.B. that wrote that damn book.

Yeah, everybody knows that God wants us to use Lethal Injection--or maybe The Chair. Fucking idiots.

Irony?

No. Seems perfectly consistant to me.

Posted by muckcat at May 13, 2005 12:34 PM

the crown prince assured me that there are very few terrorists left in the saudi government. that's good enough for me, as the saudis have always been solid supporters of my family, i mean america.

Posted by dubya at May 13, 2005 12:38 PM

This use of the US military to do personal business by Bush, is it legal?

George Bush,

Spreading freedom to Iraqi muslims: $300,000,000,000.

Tax cuts to big business and the wealthy: $2,000,000,000,000.

Pushing hard to write discrimination into the U.S. Constitution: Priceless.

Posted by American Empress at May 13, 2005 12:45 PM

emal, that "jesus" was me. thanks.

Posted by benjoya at May 13, 2005 12:49 PM

thanks benjoya, glad to give you high praise for the laugh.

Posted by emal at May 13, 2005 01:00 PM

I wish that I could say that I am shocked and surprised over the Quran desecration but I'm not. This from the same people who brought us the Abu Ghraib scandal. I don't blame people in the Muslim world prostesting with rage. Imagine the outrage in America if the Bible was torn up in front of American, Christian prisoners??

Traitors. I'm sick to death of you traitors.

Traitors. I'm sick to death of you traitors.

No Al. That's the sunlight doing those evil things to your body. Crawl back into your hole. You'll feel much better there.

Posted by muckcat at May 13, 2005 02:21 PM

Whew! Did someone have cabbage for lunch? Oh, it's just a new troll. An uberpatriot, too! how quaint.

"sick to death" ? alas, most likely just a figure of speech; our pagan satanic marxist powers aren't that strong yet.

Posted by benjoya at May 13, 2005 02:59 PM

Al is a fixture over at Matthew Yglesias's place, and Kevin Drum's. I always assumed that our lack of centrism would keep his ilk away. He's stupid, but he tends to write without many spelling errors, so it's not nearly as aggravating as the Right Coaster or Bendito. Kind of like Toby, but without the silly name.

Posted by Matt Davis at May 13, 2005 03:53 PM

Well, if we make you so sick, they why in the hell are you hear posting?

Posted by Judith at May 13, 2005 08:46 PM

That post was to Al. The sentence should read: then why in the hell are you here posting?

I have decided that our asinine trolls come here because they can't get intelligent and critical thinking on their own sites. Of course, that is assuming that they have the gene for intelligent and critical thinking.

Posted by Judith at May 13, 2005 08:52 PM

I long for a country where traitors aren't tolerated the way they are in this one. Here's to the future!

Posted by Al at May 13, 2005 08:53 PM

al, you shouldn't be so quick to point a finger. But you don't think about that, do you? To dissagree is not to be a traitor. You have probably heard the same elsewhere.

For me, I just wonder why you bother. I have never been compelled to troll sites you might visit and rable-rouse. Why do you feel compelled to do so here? I am truly curious. Tell me please!

Do you think you will convince everyone here into converting -- or perhaps bully all into converting to your thinking?

Or rather is it that you have nothing else useful to do in your life?

To be honest, if you called me a traitor to my face, I would simply laugh at you and point, so my friends could get a good chuckle.

My advice: step away from the 'puter. It ain't you're friend.

Saudi Arabia outraged at Koran desecration. Still apathetic about terrorism, Iraq beheadings.

America desecrating the Koran, apathetically turning civilans into vapor with smart bombs.

I long for a country where traitors aren't tolerated the way they are in this one. Here's to the future!

Absolutely correct Al. Me too. I loathe the stinking traitorous bastards who support this administration. Together, you and I can stop them! Thanks for joining the cause, buddy.

Posted by phidipides at May 13, 2005 09:57 PM

1 : one who betrays another's trust or is false to an obligation or duty.

1 : the betrayal of a trust : TREACHERY

2 : the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government to which the offender owes allegiance.

Yeah Al, Bush's "betrayal of trust" sures makes him a patriot doesn't it. His only obligation to duty, as he sees it, is to make the rich richer, and to overthrow the democracy that this Country was founded on.

Posted by Judith at May 14, 2005 05:49 AM

Above is the definition is of "traitor". I thought perhaps Al needed the correct definition.

Posted by Judith at May 14, 2005 05:51 AM

Posted by Al at May 14, 2005 06:34 AM

Oh, good. Fake Al showed up, too.

Posted by Matt Davis at May 14, 2005 06:39 AM

I think our soldiers should be required to carry copies of King James at all times, and whenever dealing with the civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq, they should be required to pass them out and proselytize with the Afghanis and Iraqis at gunpoint. That'd teach 'em!

; )

come on, matt. al makes toby look like thomas paine.

Dude, that's a Papist Bible!

Posted by Matt Davis at May 14, 2005 07:43 AM

Two guys named Al? I am confused.

The one Al and I are against the traitors who support the failed administration. I call him laudable Al. The other Al, if there is one, is making noises like he is a traitor. I call him audible Al. Laudable Al, being a liberal, is a patriot and aginst the republi-con traitors. Whilst audible Al is claiming to be a traitor who supports the administration.

What is phidipides to do? Why, forget about it and place his future in the hands of a higher power. ExxonMobile.

Posted by phidpides at May 14, 2005 09:19 AM

Matt Davis, no, King James is Protestant. I already took that into consideration for my new idea for a U.S. Government program that I hereby call, "Guns and Bibles!" soon to be brought to a Baghdad neighborhood mosque near you by the U.S. Armed Forces.

The Vulgate and new translations from original texts like New American Bible, New Jerusalem, and the Revised Standard Version (now available With or Without Apochrypha!) are the Papist Bibles. King James is, like, THE original Protestant Bible, nearly.

Please, we don't want to be increasing the number of Chaldeans in Iraq -- no need, we want new converts to our American version of The Faith, NOT some weirdo European-controlled Faith. Guns and Bibles, that should convince the Iraqis to love us!

Next on the agenda -- a statue to be erected in Najaf right next to the Imam Ali mosque, consisting of a Cross, a Star of David, a pair of Golden Arches and an American flag, all 500 feet high so it can be seen from miles and miles around, called, "We Love You Iraqis from Your New Friends and Neighbors!" We're gonna make them love us, by gum.

; )

Matt Davis, no, King James is Protestant.

The really hardcore anti-Papists despise the Episcopalians/Anglicans, too.
