Jesus, how about saying over and over, ad infinitum, that these bastards are lying war criminals who deserve impeachement and conviction?

It's like explaining science to a Kansas school board. They have their heads up their asses.
Posted by phidipides at May 14, 2005 10:36 AM"What we are seeing here is a confluence of two different issues into one overall theme that heretofore has never been used by the Democrats against Bush or the GOP relentlessly: trust and credibility."
Jesus Christ. More left-wing revisionism, and it's not even lunchtime....
Kerry talked about Bush being a liar in 2004. He called the entire Republican Party liars on a bit of 'overheard' video. He gave his Real Deal/Raw Deal speech at the JJ Dinner in Iowa, which turned around his campaign. He said all throughout his campaign that Bush couldn't be trusted, but in the end the gay marriage debacle gave Bush just enough juice in Ohio to eke out a win.
So yeah, Steve, except for your glaring omissions, I agree the Dems should attack Bush and the Republicans on trust. Like they have been.
Posted by Waffle at May 14, 2005 10:42 AMEvery time I hear Bush lied/misslead us, I grit my teeth. Others believe that he thought there were WMD's... I would say that the currrent adminstration does not seem to be able to "get it right"
. There were no WMD's that were the rational of the war.
. There was no continuing surplus that was the rational of the tax cuts.
. There was no military disaplian that was the cause of the torture.
. There was no homland security which was the cause of the "paqnic" a few days ago.
If the adminstration can't "Get it Right", then how can we believe them on their plan and predictions on Social Security.
The Democrats at least have been right about creating a society that is motiviated to consider the left out, where as the current adminstration is in the process of removing all the structures that help our citizens.
If they can't "Get it Right" then we need another direction.
Posted by Mike Liveright at May 14, 2005 11:33 AMThe Democratic establishment considered going after Bush for being a liar in the summer of 2001 and then decided not to after 9/11. They remained so afraid of Captain Codpiece that Kerry blew the 2004 election by not making this case, which was so eminently doable. The Democrats would be fools not to go with that theme now. But of course, the Democratic establishment are fools, so who knows? If they felt they couldn't make the case in 2004, when will they ever feel they can make that case?
First we have to purge the pussies who control the party, then maybe we can get somewhere.

March 2005: Bush spits on the third rail and it sparks.
May 2005: Bush spits on the third rail and it sparks.
If he stops spitting and reaches out to touch it WILL be the last thing he ever does.

IMHO, this must be done BEFORE anything else can be done.
..lwhen the only Democrat even trying to make a ripple is Howard Dean...'nuff said.
Posted by at May 14, 2005 11:50 AMWhy can't they? Because that would be a simple and correct solution. We Democrats need to beat our heads against a wall until it's bloody before we'll believe a course of action is the right one. We'll soul-search, and wonder if appeasement and compromise aren't really the right way out of this mess, after all, and then we'll suffer an electoral loss or two....and then, maybe, if Bush is still in office, we'll actually DO this suggestion that seems as obvious as the sun rising in the morning.
