Comments: It's a bad barrel, not a bad apple

Karzai will be commencement speaker at BU tomorrow. With road closures around BU for unrelated reasons, traffic in Boston will be as bad as Kabul.

I agree. They are dumping it all on Lyndie England as if she acted all on her own. Sure. Yeah I'm sure no one above her commanded her to do ANYTHING. The military doesn't deal in commands. Yeah, right.

Laboring to tell the truth. Do you watch 24 and think "Jack can do it!" (i.e. paying the price to get the info to save the nation.)?

My hope is that this blaming the little guy will cause problems within the military (btw - not eligible -- spelling not my strong point) When oh when will the enlisted types get tired of paying the price for those "civilians" who are truly responsible.

I remember a time not so long ago that there was a kid who refused to serve in the former Yugoslavia under the UN, and all the flag wavers were behind him. Where is that kid now and where are the others who are able to serve.

forgot myself again

boy king says: SADDAM ASKED FOR IT -- IT'S ALL I KNOW, AND DAMMIT LAURA IS WORKIN' ON IT AND CONDI TOO. AIN'T BOTH MY WIVES 'NOUGH?

tammy says: aren't you up late?

late

The military's paying: I bet that's a big part of the reason recruitment's down.
And they blame females (Karpinski, England) for playing a man's game. Fuck no, I wouldn't advise any kid of mine to join up and fight George's illegal wars.

Way back when, when people were discussing voting machines and how they might have been rigged, I thought it was sufficiently damning to point out that private companies were involved with public priorities like voting. Why on Earth did people not see the obvious conflict of interest? To this day, I have no idea.

Rich, some people don't want to see the obvious. And some people domn't want to see period. Much easier to sleep at night in ignorance then to look at the fangs of death as it closes around your windpipe, don't you know.

Great post duckman- having served in the military myself, I must wholeheartedly agree with you. Military personnel simply do what they're ordered to do; shit; you can get court-martialed for less than disobeying orders!!!

And, by the way, that old saying is true: leadership starts at the top. Nowhere is it more true than in the military- trust me on that one...
