We wouldn't want to actually write constructive comments, would we? That might let the readers think that eriposte's got a very good point. Which is the last thing the winger trolls want to acknowledge. LaLaLa, I can't hear you . .

Links to the Media Research Council are basically an admission that a conservative can't think for himself.

"The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the
very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to
me to decide whether we should have a government without
newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not
hesitate a moment to prefer the latter." --Thomas Jefferson to
Edward Carrington, 1787.

"The press is impotent when it abandons itself to falsehood."
--Thomas Jefferson to Thomas Seymour, 1807.

I don't want to appear I can't think for myself by using Thomas Jefferson's quotes, but I believe the man knew what he was talking about.

Bla bla bla,

Thanks for the link to the MRC report. These kind of reports only make the case again and again that the claims of liberal bias are complete BS. Look at what MRC considers "liberal talking points" on Social Security:
"Not a crisis"
"Market is risky"
"High transition costs"

Ain't that funny. If facts are liberal, then these are liberal points. But, inconveniently, these also turn out to be the FACTS. Even conservatives have acknowledged that this is NOT a crisis, that the broader market is risky (certainly in comparison to Treasury bond investments) and that the transisiton costs will be in the trillions of dollars.

I love it when this is the best MRC can do! They keep making my case so damn easy!

Yes. You do keep making our case so damn easy.

Politics 101

Deny, Deny, Deny. Eventually everyone will believe you.

"No liberal bias, No liberal bias, No liberal bias."

Yeah, it's too bad Fox news (their rating keep going down)has a liberal bias isn't it bla bla bla?

BTW, you are aptly named.

Cease fire, cease fire...

Please stop this series of posts. This is really getting on a lot of nerves, is pointless and (as pointed out above) boring...

Why hasn't there been mention of the 10 DAY delay in releasing the recruiting results in May. It certainly seems as though Bush and crew need some time to "collect their thoughts" (i.e. develop somewhat plausible talking points) to explain why recruiting has dropped off a cliff.

This administration will be remembered for destroying the all-volunteer military. "The Army that Bush Broke"... why don't you write about that? It is much more interesting than perceived media bias...

Bob,

There's a real simple way to avoid being annoyed or bored.

Just don't read the posts.

Or you can create your own blog and post as much as you like about the destruction of America's volunteer military. Once you've got it up and running comeback and post a link. I'm sure plenty of people will be glad to check it out.

Just don't read the posts.

In other words this site is ONLY for people that think like they do and if you don't think that way you can go to hell.

GOD FOR BID someone might actually read something that they didn't know and change their point of view.

SO for all you liberals out their that have muckcat's point of view. Your fucking hypocrites to the Democratic way of life. Why not just change this website to "Down with free speech!" Your just another form of racism.

bitch & moan,

In other words this site is ONLY for people that think like they do and if you don't think that way you can go to hell.

Did I write that Bob should go away and not visit the site? No, I did not. Get over yourself. If he doesn't like eriposte's pieces he can skip 'em. Or should Bob's distaste for them mean they should be denied to others? A fittingly rightist attitude. Bob's the only one telling someone to go to hell here. Try thinking rationally before you write things.

GOD FOR BID someone might actually read something that they didn't know and change their point of view.

Are you taking Bob's position or do you disagree with him? Because Bob doesn't want to read eriposte's pieces AT ALL and he doesn't want anyone else to be able to read them either. It doesn't seem he's interested in changing his opinion about what eriposte was discussing. He just wants eriposte to stop. So what's your point?

SO for all you liberals out their that have muckcat's point of view. Your fucking hypocrites to the Democratic way of life. Why not just change this website to "Down with free speech!" Your just another form of racism.

Let me get this straight. It's ok for Bob to come here to this site and tell eriposte not to post on topics that he/she chooses to post on but I suggest that Bob not read the things he dislikes and I'm trying to stiffle free speech. The fact that you can't comprehend the inanity of what you have written here speaks volumes.

muck,

Reread his post. His complaint was the bitching going back and fourth. i.e. "what we're doing!"

I don't see any problem with him stating that he dislikes it. Apparently you do. Therefore I refer you back to my previous comments.

Bitch and moan,

Your comments make no sense whatsoever. There is no stifling of free speech by me or muckcat. If anything Bob is the one trying to stifle my free speech asking me to stop writing. I and muckcat fully tolerate Bob's right to state his own opinion. But we don't have to agree with his opinion. Muckcat or I are simply using our right to free speech to state that we don't agree with Bob's opinion. Looks like you have a problem with our free speech.

Huh?

Please stop this series of posts.

It is much more interesting than perceived media bias...

ie. His ideas are much more interesting than eriposte's ideas about media bias.

So explain to me how this was not a request that eriposte stop posting his series on media bias.

I don't see any problem with him stating that he dislikes it. Apparently you do. Therefore I refer you back to my previous comments.

Right. So you don't have a problem with Bob trying to impede free speech. Just with my suggestion that Bob not read what he finds boring or that he create his own forum where he can elaborate on his more interesting ideas about other issues.

I would refer you to my comments about that above.

Posted by muckcat at June 2, 2005 06:53 AM

I believe your missing the guys point totally, or maybe I am. He's not asking eriposte to stop his writing. He is referring to the people commenting on his article to stop their heated discussion, hence the "cease fire". That's the way I took it.

LOL!

Which part of 'stop this series of posts' isn't clear to you? Or maybe his reference to the first comment (before what you perceive as a heated discussion got going) about the post being boring was not clear enough? Or perhaps his sugestion that the erosion of our army would be a more interesting topic than the actual topic of the post slipped by you?

Your powers of observation are less than impressive.
