I may write to them, Larre, but they are implacable in their insistence on shoving their noses up Bush's anus.

Nothing moves them. Nothing--not shame, not humiliation, nothing.

Furthermore, the last thing they would ever do is give the appearance of giving in to outside pressure--they are New York Times, No One Decides But Them. The idea that these supreme egotists would ever cave to public pressure is just not tenable.

I wish it was. They keep Miller on their staff purely as a signal to their corporate and political masters they're still on their knees. They care about those felons, not their readers.

All corporatist media headlines are lies today.

Here in Tampa, whenever a local soldier is killed in Iraq, the local propaganda rag puts headlines up in 72pt bold Font (as large as the soldier's photo) something like, "KILLED DEFENDING FREEDOM".

Our country isn't just in the toilet - it's been flushed and we're all circling the drain along with the rest of the ****.

larre, I just hate what the NY Times does sometimes and still have not gotten over Bill Keller's I-Can't-Believe-I'm-A-Hawk article nor his wet-kiss to Bush, but I am still even more angry with the WaPo for their over-the-top editorials as they almost pushed Washington denizens into outright mob behavior. These papers of record are sick from their pursuit of sucking up to power.

I'm amazed and discouraged that there has been no connection made between "The Project for the New American Century" group and President Bush's staff and resulting policies. Take a look a there web site and the people involved will astound you.

Mike, I think it is common knowledge that the Bush Administration is the public face for PNAC. That's not to say the Media is broadcasting that fact to the American Public, however. Media Control at work.

My, my, my. Aren't we all indignant that the New York Times has tilted, in a major way, to the right? Does no one remember the May 9th article (oh, easy to overlook in Section C page 9)"Panel at the New York Times Proposes Steps to Increase Credibility" where the panel ..."recommends paper increase coverage of religion in America"... and ..."more reporting from rural areas and of broader array of cultural and lifestyle issues..." That article was followed up later with news that the Times would indeed increase coverage of religious issues and hoped to add reporters with a "military background". How much less veiled did they need to be? How much more notice does anyone need? Now I don't profess to know why they caved, but I sure know caved when I see it, so to speak.

As far as MSM is concerned the Downing Street Memo is NOT news because we already knew Bush lied to us about the Iraqi War from the get go. And they sure as hell are not going to push for the truth because they might not get "Access to the Whitehouse." Pricks Indeed.
