Comments: A Horse Of A Different Feather

I was surprised, not that he held up the same old pig but that there was not even an attempt to put new lipstick on it. The kool-aid addicts will buy it but fewer and fewer are drinking the kool-aid. I heard on NPR that Republican support for Bush's waging the war has dropped from 90% to 70% since the first of the year. He might get a few of those back but way well lose some that had been giving him the benefit of doubt. C+ got a D- on this one.

I have to admit, I didn't watch it. I spent the time playing in the bed of my truck with my daughter and replacing the bumper stickers on the back window with, "IMPEACH BUSH" and "Another United Methodist for Peace & Justice"

RIP is right- tired old crap by a fellow looking forward to his vacation in a month. I,too, am somewhat surprised at the repetitive nature of this LieSpew. Geez, don't they employ speechwriters anymore? Anyone wanting to hear the slightest reference to The Way Out of Iraq had to be confused. This speech could just as well have been delivered two years ago (maybe it was, can someone check?). It's as if the boy has been in a bubble. Or, just maybe, we are dealing with a person who simply refuses reality. A real and literal Emperor with No Clothes. That should make the next three years fun, huh?

Personally, I was surprised Bush made the speech at an army base. What a perfect place for an attempted coup by disgusted junior officers (colonels, majors, etc.)
When the 82nd Airborne stops cheering, a wise President asks the AG to study up on extradition.

He should change his name to George Isuzu.

I kept looking for the ticker tape verbage telling the actual truth below his smarmy visage.

Basically, Bush has a majority of Americans against His Iraq War. He said nothing tonite to offer hope of change to those already against His War. So the nosedive will continue. Failed speech, failed policy, failed president. I believe that is a trifecta.

Freep this poll. There is one at the top of the page and three at the bottom. Spread the word.

Who is his speech writer?

Posted by Judith at June 28, 2005 07:44 PM

I actually felt bad that I was missing this speech. I truly thought he was going to actually say something of import this time. I guess I should have known from McClellan's dissembling today that that wouldn't be the case. What a worthless dolt. I ca't believe we gotta deal with this fool for 3 1/2 more years.

Oh the mirth! The only applause of the evening was faked.

Anyone hear anything about the Halliburton supplier feeding soldiers expired rations with shrapnel in them? Supposedly on the Randi Rhodes show?

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Bush tanked big time. Quick polls show an approval rating of 24%. Cool!

This speech was the kick off of a mid summer ad campaign to feel good about US troops. The idea is to re-focus the good feeling of the July 4th, and transform that into "get behind the troops in their time of need." Look for ads this weekend, and the following week. There will be website support for emails, and demographic segmentation of the respondents. The idea is to get them into local groups where they can be herded more effectively, to support the Team Bush party line.

Classic Marketing. Brand Awareness, identification with positive actual experience, and follow up video/radio/internet commercials, and response tracking. Dem strategists should observe and take Joshua Marshall quality notes, and shine light on the unseemly parts of this.

There were some nods to the British pressure to have a more realistic military policy. Rumsfeld signalled a major reframing earlier this morning.

However they continue to demonstrate their inability to lead, or learn from their mistakes. The debt will only continue to mount as the core of Team Bush keeps plugging their ears, and spends all day looking admiringly into their mirrors. No change will occure until the core of Team Bush, as well as its backers and supporters are removed from power. Impeachment remains the cheapest option.

The AOL poll at 11:40 PM CDT had speech poor 56%, concerned about Iraq situation 74%, dissatisfied with progress in Iraq 77%, the US will NOT ultimately defeat the insurgents 65%, is the war in Iraq worth the human cost? not 74%.
Color him dead lame duck.

What's the definition of insanity?
Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome.
"stay the course" when it hasn't worked, and things are getting worse?
Is insanity grounds for impeachment? And is congress aiding and abetting this president criminal too?

Sharon, insanity, according to Webster is extreme folly or unreasonableness b : something utterly foolish or unreasonable. Yep, he's insane.

I loved the quote -

The terrorists who attacked us and the terrorists we face, murder in the name of a totalitarian ideology that hates freedom, rejects tolerance and despises all dissent.

I didn't know the terrorists were Republicans.

phid, be fair. halliburton removed the bullets and shrapnel from the rancid meat before they fed it to the troops. well, they tried to remove it. well, they said they tried.

Posted by benjoya at June 29, 2005 07:19 AM

well, they said they tried.

more treason! i've been told by the, um, total strangers to me at halliburton that they absolutely, 100% tried to remove the bullets and shrapnel form the rancid meat before we, i mean they fed it to our suckers, i mean troops.
