Comments: And a New Club is Formed

"Club for Treason"

Yes sir. Treat them as such. They truly do hate America (the America founded by the Constitution, that is.)

Remember...there is no higher crime against America than TREASON.

Enjoy the shark ride, GOP. Chomp.

please don't forget one of the most sensational stories I've heard in a long time - but overshadowed by Plamegate: lawyer (or his firm) close to Bush and RNC with intelligence connections lobbying for the PRC's CCNOC to be able to buy UNOCAL. That the deal is even being considered is astonishing. Talk about national security!

also, in a general plea to all bloggers and commenters everywhere: please be nice to everyone, even the bad guys. Anger and hatred don't help us (humans) at all!

best of luck to us.

Douglass,

You said:
"...please be nice to everyone, even the bad guys. Anger and hatred don't help us (humans) at all!"

I appreciate your suggestion. But let me clear that I don't hate these people. They are the ones who hate and who try to slander people on the left. Sometimes, people like that need to be called out for who they are - in simple terms.

I agree with eriposte. It is not those of us at The Left Coaster who invade a blog, call people liars, post fabrications, refuse to post links, refuse to answer reasonable questions, or attack and then slither into the night like snakes. My tolerance is GONE. I'm not interest in "nice" anymore. My Country is being taken away from me, and by God I am not sitting around and playing nice with this group of traitors to America.

BREAKING: Now It’s Matt Cooper’s Fault

Byron York just published an article based on a new interview with Rove’s lawyer, Robert Luskin. It represents a new evolution for the Rove spin machine. Now, it’s Matt Cooper’s fault. Here is what Luskin told York:

If you read what Karl said to him and read how Cooper characterizes it in the article, he really spins it in a pretty ugly fashion to make it seem like people in the White House were affirmatively reaching out to reporters to try to get them to them to report negative information about Plame.

It’s hard to see how this is relevant. The issue isn’t how Cooper treated Rove. It’s that Rove leaked the identity of an undercover CIA agent to Cooper. It’s also notable that Luskin has dropped Rove’s original spin, which was “I didn’t know her name and I didn’t leak her name“:

Luskin told NRO that Rove is not hiding behind the defense that he did not identify Wilson’s wife because he did not specifically use her name. Asked if that argument was too legalistic, Luskin said, “I agree with you. I think it’s a detail.”

Oh, and by the way, Luskin added that Fitzgerald told him Rove is a “subject” of the investigation.

Once again, the blame game falls on the messenger. Poor Karl, must be terrible to have people misinterpret your motives or your words.

And don't forget that the club includes some granddaddy traitors left over from Iran-Contra, who, if this were a just world, would have not dared show their faces in public again, and if the elder Bush weren't one of the club, would still be rotting in prison.

thanks for your replies. I'm sorry that my post seemed to single out posters here at the Left Coaster; I didn't mean that at all. I haven't posted anywhere for quite awhile, and this had been on my mind for some time, and it just bubbled up - somewhat inappropriately - here. Keep up the great work, everyone.

Yes, the Club for Treason takes on new members every day. Jesus! Given Bush's declining poll numbers, you'd think that the right wingnuts would take a hint and stop supporting Bush because the more they align themselves with him, the more they are going to be looked down upon by the American public. But no, they just can't help themselves, can they? They're pathological. It's quite fascinating and very amusing!

Douglas, I sincerely hope our reaction was not too harsh, but what you have here on this Blog are some really pissed off Democrats. While I appreciate what you are saying, we are just not in the mood to be accommodating anymore.

I seem to recall Senator Leahy getting someone killed with one of his leaks while he served on the Intelligence Committee. When will you be calling for his arrest and prosecution?
