Comments: ABC News Catches Up To The Left Coaster - A Week Late

This story should certainly be woven into the larger narrative that the Bush Administration will say anything and expose any national security secret for short term political gain. The search for real WMD demolished by Rovegate for venal payback and the first and only inside mole into al Quaeda sacrificed for a chance to disrupt the Democratic Convention, possibly leading to the London bombings, it's all politics, all the time for these thugs.

It's too bad that real journalism is such "hard work". Otherwise, maybe someone in the Corporate media could connect the dots.

From Capitol Hill Blues:

WASHINGTON - Presidential confidant Karl Rove testified to a grand jury that he learned the identity of a CIA operative originally from journalists, then informally discussed the information with a Time magazine reporter days before the story broke, according to a person briefed on the testimony.

The person, who works in the legal profession and spoke only on condition of anonymity because of the secrecy of grand jury proceedings, told The Associated Press that Rove testified last year that he remembers specifically being told by columnist Robert Novak that Valerie Plame, the wife of a harsh Iraq war critic, worked for the CIA.

Okay, I am confused. If Rove told the grand jury that Novak told him and then Rove turns around and tells Cooper, knowing full well that she is a CIA Agent, would that not prove his guilt?

Why am I feeling that the waters are beginning to get muddy?

If this is not true, then Novak just got cheneyed by this WH.

Sorry Steve, wrong comment section again.

Last night my wife's curiosity compelled her to ask about the whole Rove mess. I briefed her on the development concerning the AQ mole who got "burned" by the Bush White House.

"That's serious", she replied. "It should be on the news or something." I told her that I was pretty sure it was. We filed into the living room and switched on the tube. CNN headline news had something inscrutable on about men's sexuality. Larry King was on another channel talking to Jessica Hahn, who is looking more and more like a madame from an old western horse opera. Brian Williams was on Conan O'Brian and Conan fleetingly mentioned the Rove affair briefly. We switched off the tube.

Nope. Nothing there.

I am glad that ABC News is at least trying to keep up.

In ABC's defense (my god forgive me) they had to wait until the link was confirmed. When Clinton was president, of course, the rules wouldn't have applied and there would be stories about Hillary having sex in parked cars with Pakistani terrorists and the FBI agents whow were covering up for them before the London smoke cleared.

It's like Al Qa Qaa. The attacks in Iraq grew more deadly in a time frame that would coincide with the looting of the munitions dump. I keep wondering where all those explosives went and the corporate media won't bite. I'm starting to think they don't read my blog ...
