I loved that album, still do, although I've moved on to Tool and Alice in Chains. It reminds me of a simpler life, even though I was living at NAS Pensacola with the blue angels flying over. Oh, to be back in those innocent days..
Posted by iamcoyote at August 13, 2005 06:39 AMDuckman, as always, you are right on. I suspect that thousands here in Canada feel the pain with you and are proud of Cindy.
One politician on TV said, and I can't remember who, many months ago, just before Bush invaded Iraq, if they let him go into Iraq, they'll be opening up a can of worms and they'd better think twice. Too bad Bush doesn't have the ability to see the big picture. We are all paying for his little game in more ways than can be imagined.
I saw that, thanks for taking me back.

[Editor: ignore=off]Benny, as a surreal performance artist, you suck!
Posted by iamcoyote at August 13, 2005 08:10 AMSheehan through her pain is telling us all that the emperor has no clothes. Her question about when the children of presidents, vice presidents, defense secretaries, senators and representatives are going to share the dangers of this noble cause is spot-on.
I support a 2 year draft at age 18 or graduation/dropout age from high school. I think these kids should have the option of peace corps, military service, americorps etc. But anyway you want to cut it, 2 years of service. The one exception I would make is that the children of the above listed officials would have to do military service.

But, I wonder if the families of those who have died at the hands of Saddam, or those who died in 9/11, or those who died in any of the radical terrorist attacks carried out by Al Qaeda felt?
Posted by muckdog at August 13, 2005 09:48 AMMuckdog, I don't think the families of those who died at the hands of Saddam feel any worse than the Sunni, Shi'ite and Kurd families who are suffering from killing each other in a bloody, undeclared civil war. And at least Saddam tried to modernize the place unlike the Shi'ite rulers and Sunni would-be rulers who seem to want to drag Iraq into some medieval-like state. As for al Qaeda, what the hell did they have to do with Iraq and Cindy Sheehan's son's death in Iraq before the U.S. attacked Iraq and brought lawlessness with it? Yeah, see, our war in Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. So quit trying to change the topic.

Muck would like living in such a medieval religious state here in America as well. He's compatible, in the sense that he wants to drag us back to the nighmares of 'nukuler' power. To achieve this, no cost is too great - as long as he's not liable for any part of the bill - which as gas prices indicate, is coming due.

Nah, muck's gambling that The Market Will Never Let Them Do That but that The Investor Class Will Be Incentivized Anyway. He's a risk-taker, you see ...
