Comments: Bill Frist's Strange Timing

It's time to frog march Fristy outta here in handcuffs. This arrogant boob deserves no less for his greed and pomposity.

Posted by Pops at September 23, 2005 02:01 PM

Well, I guess it's good for Bill he made so much money off the deal; his "political capital," as the wonks call it, seems to be taking a hit. It's interesting, though--Frist's insider trading and the White House's Abramoff troubles came up at the same time? Will they serve to reinforce one another, or just distract from one another?

"only the little people pay taxes"
"only the little people are ethical"
"only the little people get hammered in the market"

But, ahem, most of the big hypocrits, when caught, do time in the slammer. Will it be different this time?

Posted by Dilbert at September 23, 2005 02:11 PM

When quesioned about this issue, the President said, "Fister, you are doing one heck of job!"

No one has served a minute of time for Enron yet.

You lefties don't unnerstand. Losing money would be a conflict of interest for a neo-conartist, so it couldn't be allowed to happen.

Sorry for the OT. But, FYI to anyone going to the L.A. Anti-War/Impeach Bush rally tomorrow at Olympic & Broadway. I took a little drive down Broadway when I went to pick up my lunch today. Along all of Broadway are posted "No Stopping 6 AM to 6 PM Saturday Only." No doubt those signs are posted on the opposite side of Broadway as well. Please make your commuting and parking plans to tomorrow's rally accordingly. Keep on truckin' (just no stopping along the way). The Blue/Red line stations are a far piece from the rally site if you're planning on taking the train. Peace. (:>

First he blows the diagnosis of a 'persistent vegetative state.' Now he thinks that the blind can see. What kind of doctor is this guy anyway?

Posted by Daniel Maskit at September 23, 2005 04:13 PM

Exactly what Bushco Republican operative is not a moral turd?

They literally think they can get away with anything: a "conflict of interest" arising under a supposedly "blind trust"!! The repulsive LIES are almost overwhelming.

Has the senate majority leader ever been indicted before? (I know, I know, it'll never happen; just wondering.

Posted by euzoius at September 23, 2005 04:38 PM

It's not a "conflict of interest" when it's "business as usual"!!

Posted by bushblowsturdblossom at September 23, 2005 05:26 PM

I am really perplexed at the amount of politicians involved in crime. It has been all checked. Here it is.

Not stupid, oh my God! When you see the corruption listed as you have done, it took my breath away. Every editor/producer of every media outlet should receive this list. I thought Watergate was a blot on our Governmental history, but this is beyond any scope one could have imagined.

Posted by Judith at September 23, 2005 07:02 PM

Man, I thought Reagan was the worst, for a second! Thanks for reminding me, not stupid!
Judith, your assessment is true, if only they would take it seriously!!
Please, let's get out and protest this chimp fucker!!

Posted by bushblowsturdblossom at September 23, 2005 07:28 PM

Judy I did not know how this list would come out. This is the work of a not know reporter on air, who care, on freespeech.com. WayneMadsenReport.com.
But a man that have researched his news instead of the typical false news presented by corporate media. I want newsmen to finally gives us real news.
Dream on!

Not Stupid:

I'm not really clear about the point you're trying to make. I know most of these people, and they are good, God-fearing, family-values types. Heck, Bill Jankow used to babysit my kids, until I had to stop him, and Vince Cianci Firm borrowed a screwdriver from me once. I mean sure, some of the people have had little problems and a few indictments, but have you looked in the mirror recently. Not a pretty picture, I bet. Don't cast glasses if you live in houses. No sir. God is mostly always right.

Posted by abraham t. ramsbottom at September 23, 2005 09:54 PM

So Sen. Frist has no connection to HCA, right? HCA has consistently been a top contributor to Frist's senatorial campaigns. Hmmm. I'm confused and I am a former securities analyst. How blind can a blind trust be if the "blinded" person can give directives to sell holdings? Seems like if the trust is truly blind, a) the owner should not have the power to direct investment decisions and b) should not know what holdings the trust even has at any given point.

A finiancial professional once told me that so called blind trusts can see just as well as those who set them up want them to. The bad part is, scince that will probabally always be true, the only possible solution is to prosecute those cases so odious that they reach the public's attention. Hopefully, that will discourage at least some of the worst outrageousness.
