So, we are now buying some of the bullets that we are using in Iraq from Israel? I knew that this would eventually happen back in january.
Posted by rlp at September 25, 2005 06:44 PMIt makes sense to get the bullets from Israel for the mere fact alone that it costs less. You don’t have to pay transportation cost of moving the ammo across the globe which takes time and money. Israel is within walking distance of Iraq. How can this possibly be viewed negatively?
Posted by Apollyon at September 25, 2005 08:42 PMEver heard of propaganda? We're paying the one enemy arabs revile above all others money for bullets to shoot at arabs with. If there's anything that can destroy your dream of a model Iraq coming to pass, it's tying ourselves even closer to Israel in the arab mind than we already are.
You really don't get it do you?
Posted by rlp at September 25, 2005 09:31 PMWith all the bullets we are shooting up we cant subdue the Iraqi opposition?
Posted by granger at September 25, 2005 09:53 PMDon't you get it, Apollyon? It speaks volumes about America's lack of industrial capability, no matter where the bullets come from. It says we do not have the industrial ability to fight in small crappy places like Iraq and Afghanistan. A good rule of thumb to determine who wins wars is to determine who has the capacity to create weapons. There's many exceptions to this throughout history, but it's a damn good indicator of how weak the United States really is. And yet, we spend more on our military than any other nation. I'd suggest to you the Bushies have sold this country out to their campaign donors, resulting in a wreck of a country unable to make enough bullets. And this is just bullets. Imagine the problems we have making tanks, armor, etc. You get the idea. Shipping our industry to China, Mexico, Singapore, etc., has cost us, big time. We're pussies, now, and no amount of flag-waving is going to change that.
Posted by Brian Bell at September 25, 2005 10:39 PMWell as far as the farmer's are concerned around where I live, most if not all pretty much feel the butt-pain caused by this current administration. Many grumble about what little they can see and understand.
Hope there is enough dissent among the rural ranks to overcome habit and vote for somebody/thing that at least tries to not screw them over...
