Comments: Brown Gets The Pinata Treatment From Congress Today

Well, that should get 'ol Brownie off the government dole...um, I mean payola.....oops, I mean payroll. Yeah, that's it: payroll.

Posted by ann at September 27, 2005 01:02 PM

Brown was verbally and visibly offended by some of the very direct comments, but no-one seemed to care. It was not a time for politeness. He lives in the current Administration's piñata, and while I'm not sure it got broken this time, I'm pretty sure there's no candy inside.

Posted by dus7 at September 27, 2005 01:10 PM

At what point did Brownie actually take his head out of his ass, if he did at all. Just asking...

Posted by Tibor at September 27, 2005 01:16 PM

david sirota has a good analysis of how the Corps and SELA got funds cut under Bush.

Drownie's head shouldn't be the only one to roll -

the heads of the people who allowed the NOLA infrastructure & Trembling Prairie to get tossed aside in favor of Bush's tax cuts should also roll.

Couldn't happen to a nicer HACK!

What a perfect symbol of the Bush Administration.

This puke needs to go back to Edmund,Oklahoma and do what he does best: be the assistant to a city manager, where he can once again relearn the Republican art of kissing asses in hopes of getting a better job.

The only problem with crucifying Brown is that Bush and Chertoff will get off scot-free That is Rove’s plan. Maybe it would be more productive to go after the lead assholes rather than the flunkies. The problem with going after the lead assholes is where do you start?

Posted by tempus at September 27, 2005 01:57 PM

The Dems need to start making the connection for people about how Bu$hco was running all over the country trying to kill Social Security, when they should have been preparing to protect the country. The public needs to be reminded all the effort these idiots put into trying to sell the country a load of crap. If half the effort was put into FEMA and being prepared for a terror attack as was put into the Schivo case and Social Security, those people in New orleans was be alive today. This needs to be said everyday by every Dem from now till 2006 and 2008 elections.

Yep!

It's like a proctological convention crashed the White House.

It's like a proctological convention crashed the White House.

It certainly wasn't a MENSA convention. Why is it that all politicians are lying, idiotic, pandering, self-centered, thieving morons? All of them. Is it genetic? Is it in the job description?

Posted by tempus at September 27, 2005 02:12 PM

That little fuck kind of looks like Rove, doesn't he?

Eerie.

"Committee Chairman Tom Davis, R-Va., cautioned against too narrowly assigning blame.

“At the end of the day, I suspect that we’ll find that government at all levels failed the people of Louisiana and Mississippi and Alabama and the Gulf Coast,” said Davis."

You bet Davis, all levels failed to one degree or another but the first was the Bush Administration and the Republican led Congress who put the putz in his job in the first place.

Second place goes to the that Bush Toadie Lieberman

Happy Birthday E=mc2!

Dear God:

I thought Einstein was born March 14th.

Posted by tempus at September 27, 2005 02:34 PM

Brownie said that the Governor Blanco did not include Orleans Parrish in her declaration of disaster.

Apparently he failed to actually read the 28 letter she sent to the President.

Oopsie. Lying under Oath. Jail time for Bozo.

Posted by jillian at September 27, 2005 02:35 PM

(28 August) Letter....sorry.

Posted by jillian at September 27, 2005 02:35 PM

I thought Einstein was born March 14th.

He may have been. Who can keep track?

But E=mc2 was born on September 27, 1905. Shortly after I tickled his neurons to tease it out of his mass of grey matter.

Quoth Brown the Clown:

"I've overseen over 150 presidentially declared disasters..."

Lessee, the little twit was appointed in January '03, which would work out to an average of a little more than one "presidentially declared disaster" per week.

That can't be right, can it?

And even if it were, who would brag about taking so many practice swings before striking out (looking, with the bat on his shoulder)?

Posted by Zak at September 27, 2005 03:49 PM

Well, one good thing, before we tar and feather the little punk, he was right about chertoff and bush etc not funding FEMA. Really, he just ratted out any and everybody, except himself of course, but then, what would you expect from a bushco hack when there's no place to hide?

Posted by Duckman GR at September 27, 2005 04:39 PM

Truman: "The Buck Stops Here"
Bush: "What the Buck?"

Posted by Cookie Monster at September 27, 2005 04:56 PM

I look at it this way: If somebody offered me a job I couldn't handle, I might not even know I couldn't handle it--and I sure as hell wouldn't be able admit it to myself once I blew it, and lots of people died, until I had gone through a lot of expensive therapy.

So this isn't really Mike Brown's fault. He just wasn't good enough to have that job. The problem is that somebody--somebody really, really fucking dumb--gave him the job. Not surprisingly, that very same dumbass is trying to scapegoat Brown in these hearings. Brown, though, apparently will not be receiving a Medal o' Freedom, and he's ticked.

Good.

Brownie said that the Governor Blanco did not include Orleans Parrish in her declaration of disaster.....that's a typical Bu$hco statement, Jillian....here's a storm that was 300 miles wide and this moron is saying "she never said anything about..blah, blah blah"...which is right in the heart of the storm....now that the lustre is off this mob, everything they say seems outlandish, yet typical.

Posted by Goyo at September 27, 2005 05:50 PM

Jillian, Lying under oath only counts if your a Democrat. IOKIYAR

Posted by Goose1 at September 27, 2005 06:02 PM

Had the misfortune of seeing that prick on the NewsHour. Oh yeah, he's one of them alright, arrogant, mself righteous, oblivious. How dare you question him he said to Gene Taylor-Fighting Mad Dem, he took umbrage at thye characterization of him as unqualified. His fucking Su7nday School teacher was murdered by tim mcveigh.

skanky ann applauded tim mcveigh, lets not forget.

And the dolts wonder why we hate these guys.

Posted by Duckman GR at September 27, 2005 07:25 PM

Goyo, I had the same thought. Was she suppose to send a list to make sure the dumbasses knew each and every town, city, suburb, county?

Posted by Judith at September 27, 2005 07:46 PM

What a fool of fools! He must be the court jester in the court of the "King of the Crackers"!

Posted by bushblowsturdblossom at September 27, 2005 07:57 PM

Draft him.

Posted by L. I. Beralhawk at September 27, 2005 07:59 PM

Brownie is a de-evolutionist.

Posted by L. I. Beralhawk at September 27, 2005 08:02 PM

Mr. Brown is the obvious result of Intelligent Design.

Posted by tempus at September 28, 2005 07:05 PM

tempus is correct. Brown is just a convenient scapegoat. Republicans are happy to pile on Brownie as a prophylactic to foreclose Democrats piling on Dubya.

Democrats should be making the case that Dubya twice ignored warnings about pending catastrophes and returned to his vacation. That four years after 9/11, it's clear that there are no measures in place to protect American citizens, even when the emergency is predicted, anticipated, and plotted for days in advance. And they should seize on Brownie's admission that Dubya and his cronies have weakened FEMA since 9/11 as an example of how this administration's incompetence has weakened America instead of strengthening it.
