Maybe Martha Stewart can give him some tips on how to use a magic marker to turn those drab prison blues into designer outfits.
Posted by ck at September 28, 2005 12:05 PMOne thing that's interesting to me is that Frist sold to protect his investments from being clobbered. So far, I believe HCA is down something like 16%. That's not peanuts, when you're talking about millions of dollars, but it's hardly a catastrophic downturn. Was it worth an SEC investigation, Bill?

Remember Al Capone? Brought down by income tax evasion. It's funny how the big fish always get caught by the little bait.
Posted by rlp at September 28, 2005 12:18 PM“I question it based on a review of the video footage which I spent an hour or so looking at last night in my office,” Frist said in a lengthy speech in which he quoted financial texts and standards. “I certainly seemed to respond to unethical stimuli.”
"A diagnosis of 'blind trust' would appear to be misleading in this case." he continued.

Hey, they brought down Martha Stewart over a much, much smaller amount of money, and I don't think she thought it was worth it.
Posted by ann at September 28, 2005 12:21 PMAt this rate, you'll need a frickin' flash card to keep track of all the GOPers under indictment or threat of indictment. DeLay, Frist, Bob Ney, Ernie Fletcher, Bob Taft, Karl Rove, etc...the list goes on and on.
Posted by gfyfe at September 28, 2005 12:32 PMann, at least Martha got a tv show out of it!

I can see it now: Pet Hospital, with Dr. Bill Frist
Posted by dj moonbat at September 28, 2005 12:47 PMI'll be satisfied when they indict and convict the chimp himself...
Posted by headxray at September 28, 2005 12:56 PMAs I've been repeating elsewhere:
Frist pumped and dumped the family business.
GOP family values for you.

I would characterize that outcome as exceedingly unlikely. Even if every other person who was on that flight to Africa goes to prison, Bush will not be indicted. Only if we get both houses of Congress back, and can impeach the fucker, will Bush ever face the music. Even then, President Pelosi might pardon him.
Posted by dj moonbat at September 28, 2005 01:05 PMDon't forget Rep. Roy Blunt who is sharing the majority leadership duties:
Check out what I've found on Blunt:

It should have happen earlier but Daddy president at the time help him out of jail.
Well here are senator Frist’s records. What a crooks he is.

Roy Blunt is just as bad. His wonderful spoiled brat son is now Governor of Missouri, and he wasn't in office several months before investigations began in possible criminal behavior. We thought Asscroft was bad, but this guy and his Father fit right in with the rest of the criminals in the GOP.
Posted by Judith at September 28, 2005 03:04 PMGee, that picture of Blunt has to be twenty years old.
Posted by Judith at September 28, 2005 03:07 PMThey're all bad, every last rotten one of em.
Criminal Conspiracy.
Culture of Corruption.
It's all there.
Posted by Duckman GR at September 28, 2005 03:31 PMAccording to the Senate and House Conduct Committee, the Republicans are deep in Graft, Corruption, Embezzlement, Blackmail, Greed and Criminal Negligence. The Democrats are unfortunately not particularly good at anything.
