Comments: Judy and Scooter

This morning I heard on NPR that Judith Miller was in jail "for protecting a source." Surely that is not the official crime she was charged with, is it?

Miller was charged with contempt of court, not protecting a source.

Miller's stay in prison could have been simply a delay tactic so that Rove could get everyone's lies in a row. If he's now done that, he thinks they can skate....and Judy can leave.

If one stops to clearly consider the situation with regard to Plamegate, one thing seems to stick out. The Forces who run the GOP, and there are several groups working in and out of concert, have spent many years of scheming, cheating, corrupting and outright public deception to achieve the stranglehold on American Government they currently possess. Having the President,Vice President, or their #2 Men, or even close underlings tried and convicted of treasonous activity for the purpose of Political Power, which would then seriously crumble the empire, is not an option. Whatever comes of the Fitzgerald probe, the fix is in (not necessasarily with Fitz) to make sure the Empire is not shaken out of power. The only curiousity now is how they will do that and who is expendable. Not that it won't be amusing, but in the end it will be just another close call that didn't quite hit the mark. There has been a bunch of those with BushCo, and he's still smirking.
