So true. Personally, I come here mainly for the entertainment brought about by our resident wingnuts (on both side, honestly, but mostly for the rightists).

You're not entertaining me, Benny! Don't you go disappearing before you've brought perhaps a slight giggle to me too!

Well, I guess we didn't need that either... why the hell not? Just let them take it all away!

Ignorance and gullability of their base? My god, look around you. Ignorance and gullability abound regardless of politics, race, class, gender, age or income. Americans by the millions fervently believe the Earth is a mere several thousand years old. Most haven't read a nonfiction book cover to cover in their life. Not years, but in their life. The vast majority either fear or revile homosexuals. 90% couldn't point out a random list of 5 countries on a map of the world. We've smoked, drank and overeaten ourselves into a nation of fat, wheezing asthmatics waddling back and forth between the TV and the kitchen with an occasional toilet break to make more room for beer and chips. If playing to the ignorance of your base makes for good politics Democrats must be missing the boat, for I'm sure Republicans don't own the franchise on stupidity.

So we go from 'Jesusland' to 'wingnuttia', what's our next nickname? Our President continues to confound Democrats. What is there for you to do? Another great pick, another 70 to 85 votes to confirm, another SCOTUS in office. Together, these two will convince any other Justices, that they can retire, knowing our President will do the right thing. Another thing to come out of this is to show how extreme those who vote against this nominee are. It's a defining thing.

Peter - don't go bogarting whatever it is you're smoking. I could use some of that sh**, it must be good stuff. You are certainly high as a kite.

Pete, "Jesusland" is a reality. Check it out... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1582433380/draftclark-20/103-6100202-8888664?creative=327641&camp=14573&link_code=as1

And wingnuttia is a great moniker for far right conservatism.
