Comments: Tom DeLay admits his indictment was not due to partisan witchhunt

It is difficult to determine what to make of anything DeLay says as he is an inveterate, turd-eating liar. Ergo, if the says the charges are a lie, they must be true.

Conversely, or perversely, if he says they are true, they are a lie. But if they are a lie, they must be true....I'm Dazed and Confused, and definitely not Robert Plant, so I can't afford to be.

Is it just me, or do others wonder if the text of the Thursday speech will be something like:

"Terra, terra, terra, stay the course, hardest workin' terra fightin' preznit in history, terra, terra, terra -- but our terra fightin' is bein' compromised by a partisan prosecutor who's agin' us and with the terr'ists so I'm firing him right now -- terra, terra, terra, thank you and good night."

Don't forget the fear, the horror, the horror!

ck:

Well, the gist of the speech is invariably correct, but Georgie is simply not that articulate, and he would never say thank you.

OK, now this one is just too funny...
I just keep picturing someone (eriposte) listening to Rush and transcribing his comments... I don't listen to him and wonder why anyone would bother not only to listen but to transcribe him just so they could pick it apart pointless commentary to be too bizarre.

No worries you can blast away at my comment - like I said just a funny image I thought I'd share.
I'll leave now... maybe I'll check back in a couple weeks - have a good one.

Yea another speech from “GREAT Leader”! It is all going down hill from now but he want to save his ass. Bush Cheney not under oath again, hand in hand, did meet with Fitzgerald as they did for the phony 9/11 omission except this time it is not a whitewash as anyone thinks. I really hope then we finally have to force this lying administration to step down. The all world know it. Every time I mention that, the answers are we know bush is a liar why all those neocons cannot realize it?
The last 5 + years with this administration has done so much wrong for the people of this Nation that it will take many years to get back our sanity. We need to keep on top of it and not go for another nut. Let’s research no matter what party they are from, We need leader that care about us instead of the corporation. I feel that we should limit all political position. We have to return congress to a ¾ majority for deciding law and re-instated the one line veto. This congress have been out of control for to long.

The speech has been planned since at least monday, so I don't think it is a last minute distraction:

Though I do think idictments are coming soon. Now that his last witnesses have testified, It's time for the prosecuter to put up or shut up. I'm sure he knew where he was going with it before Miller came out of her hole. I'll bet Fitzgerald spent monday getting his hair cut and his suit tailored in anticipation of a little publicity (I would do the same if I was about to implicate the president in an espianage/obstruction case).

There is some buzz even on libertarian and neo-con blogs that it's not the first, but the second indictment that was retaliatory, but not for the reasons DeLay claimed. Some lawyers have guessed that DeLay made a pre-charge agreement that he will plead guilty to the conspiracy count in exchange for not being indicted on other charges. The evidence for this was the signed waiver of statute of limitation.

Now that DeLay got a new lawyer--one of the best in the field--he's got cockier. His lawyer claimed that the waiver of the statute of limitation has been withdrawn--of course, unlike other waivers (e.g., confession), it's a bit difficult to undo this one. Once waived, it cannot be undone retroactively since it is a good-faith agreement. However, the theory goes, because DeLay has made it clear that he's going to make the process difficult on the lone charge, Earle decided to hit him with a Mac truck. I guess, we get to find out for sure in two weeks.

OutsideTheEchoChamber, don't leave, please. You offer such grounded insight and new ideas. I for one think you should post regularly, here and everywhere.
