Posted by dennis at October 7, 2005 02:35 AMRe: Miers--I know you can't discriminate against someone based on their religion, but I really think that anyone who takes the bible literally (and I'm not sure if she does or not) has shown their inability to apply sound reasoning and logic. I think that should disqualify someone from being a judge.
Posted by CG at October 7, 2005 06:15 AMto say that miers is the most qualified person in the country for the supreme court is an insult to anyone of sound mind and body..people in this country that believe in that freak in the white house had better snap to their senses because he is doing the country great harm to our ...he is an embaressment
Posted by dennis at October 7, 2005 06:40 AMShe's a plant, a fixer. She's just nominated to protect Bush and his poeple when the crimes get sent to the SC. That is the biggest reason she has been nominated. And Bush thinks she will be a reliable vote for Big Business and aginst socially liberal history and settled and not so settled law.
Posted by John B. at October 7, 2005 06:48 AMBush at 37%.. He continues to drop like a rock regardless of how many times he reminds us that 9/11 = Iraq. Bush = Toast.

National Energy Gouging Blackout Thanksgiving
On Thanksgiving Weekend, Starting at 12:01 A.M., November 24th 2005 begin the “National Energy Gouging Blackout Thanksgiving” by turning off all non-essential electricity, turning down heating as cool as possible, not purchasing gasoline, for at least 24 hours, all weekend if possible. This is to protest the greed of Congress, the Oil Industry, the Gasoline refiners, the Fuel Oil refiners, Natural Gas companies, Electric companies raping every American household.
This is your chance to unite and vote against the energy raping of America. It will save you money, it will send a ripple across the energy corporations of America, and will show Congress what the American people want. As one combined voice, you can join your neighbor to tell the corrupt energy industry, ENOUGH!
Issy;
I think this is one of the finest ideas I have ever seen to get the message across to the BIG OIL people. If we continue to let them suck us dry and destroy the environment, we will be paying FAR MORE in lives than in gas prices! If we embrace this marvelous idea the message will be heard! Wake up people! Turn off the stuff you really do not need! Pull the plug on TVs and computers! Gas up ahead of time, cook dinner a day early, BE with your family. Take time to be thankful that you have the POWER to say NO MORE!!
Show the greedy oil people that we will NOT ALLOW them their gross profits! Hit them where it hurts! Turn off the lights! Turn off EVERYTHING you do not NEED for a few days! Let them see we are serious! Email this to your computer friends, print it out and snail mail it to those who do not play on computers. Get the message out and please participate. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
You can also enjoy an “old fashioned” Thanksgiving.
