Comments: Treasongate probe widens?

"Signs", "suggests", "believe", "possible".....not sure what to take away from it.

Well, this is the Journal, not some fly-by-night outfit. Atrios is right--it's time to chill some bubbly.

Somehow, I'm sure it's going to end up being Bill Clinton's fault...

A little off-topic...okay, totally off-topic, but it made me very uneasy.

Look mom! We have the Nationalist Channel now! And no, I don't mean Fox News this time... nothing less than military control of a news network.

Let me say that again, with a bit more emphasis on the dangerous part.

MILITARY CONTROL OF A NEWS NETWORK.

This is wholly unlike the American Forces Network, which is mainly for entertainment purposes. This is...well, you know.

I don't know of any side (other than neocons) who would be comfortable with this. Liberals don't like it for obvious reasons, and (real) conservatives won't like another government hand in the media business. This could be very bad, or very-short-lived, depending on how it goes. I'm getting visions of long lines of soldiers marching on the screen while an enthusiastic but nonprovoking hostess urges our people to rejoice in the coming victory.

It may be in the 50s right now, but I'm not getting chills from the air temp...

Yeah, chill the bubbly, don't pop that cork off, not yet. This is a long way from over. Fingers crossed, but it ain't in the bag, yet.

I'm pretty sure things have reached the point where it's definitely going down. Remember the bottom line: serious damage to national security was done by Plame's exposure. We know this for sure based on statements made by federal judges in preliminary rulings related to the investigation.

Given that undeniable and serious harm at the root of this case, Fitz will proceed to indict with whatever he's got at this point. And if his pre-indictment performance is any indication, he may end up with plenty more before it's all over.

Just so you know, the enemy believes that we never landed on the moon, and I can see a flag on the moon with my telescope, it's American.

i'll put this on the open thread on wed, but a bipartisan panel for tax reform is close to eliminating the home mortgage deduction.

buh-bye california real estate.

Bill Clinton's fault? Not a bad idea...Wish I had thought of that...

I read the WSJ piece with bated anticipation. It was vague, at a time where precision, speculation driven by solid reasoning (Note to WSJ: Take a page out of eriposte, emptywheel etc.) would have been more appropriate. I actually was disappointed.

Good news, then, muck; Bush is in such deep disrepute with the American people, and the budget is so out of balance, that no one will care what the tax reform panel has to say. (It's already delayed its report twice, a sure sign that it's not a high priority.)

WK,
Your comment, "Remember the bottom line: serious damage to national security was done by Plame's exposure.", is the bottom line only of chapter one.
I'm pretty sure that the eight redacted pages include the words "Cheney" and "Forgery".
