It Ain't Hillary Stupid,
Dick Meyer of CBS's article about this - The Politics of Polarization by Elaine Kamarck and William Galston.

Summary: Clintonism and the New Democrats are right, the Democrats are folling themselves when they don't move to the center. There are 4 myths they attack - all of which seem to not attack Democrtaic centerism, but the strategies and tactics the progressives in Democratic Party are working on, especilally on the Internet.

Meyer's take on it is that a nomination for Hillary would be the worst thing the Democratic Party could do. Because you know, Hillary's not part of the Center, dontchyaknow.

now on to the Iraq election. We'll know shortly who won.....if the Constitution passes it will be announced soon so that the Islamic based republic can start clamping down on the Sunnis. If it fails,a delay in the final count will be called by the Bush Admin until they can rig it to pass,so the Islamic based republic can start clamping down on the Sunnis. Oh well, the Sunnis had their day. Regime change can be a bitch. The insurgency will continue, allowing PNAC to keep 160,000 US troops over there indefinitely.

and it didn't take long for Timmy Russert to fall back into his No Follow Up on BushCo rule. When he presented Condi with a poll showing no support for Bush's Iraq policies - she immediately roboted out the 9/11-Al Queda=Iraq party line followed by what seemed like an hour of b.s. Russert let the 9/11=Iraq comments slide.

perhaps judith millers memory would crystalize were she given the same treatment iraqi prisoners endured..a war she so disgustingly shilled for..she deserves it

Well, the results are in ! Iraq vote is suspicious, requiring an investigation into possible fraud because *Too Many* people voted ! So, as I indicated in the post a couple up from this, it may be that the Constitution was voted down, requiring Bush the Election Fixin' King, to stall the results until some of the overvote can be dumped down the spider hole. Can any election involving Bush ever be legit????

A vote for Hillary would be a vote for failure. Hillary will not challenge the inequities that have been inflicted on America scince 1980 and especally scince 2001. I see a Hillary presidency as a one term presidency that would lead to victory in 2012 by a revitalized, but not reformed, Republican party.

No, we need a Democrat leading the ticket that understands that the currnet right wing government which was imposed by an unconstitutional Supreme Court decision and reinforced by the hysteria post 911 is not permanant. Americans want health care reform, a clean environment and economic policies that benifit the whole nation, not just the elete. Hillary will waffle, triangulate and please no one. If we're shortsighted enough to "play it safe" with the DLC approach and not address Amreica's problems head on it will be an even greater lost opportunity than the first Clinton presidentcy was. Our national problems won't be addressed and there's not likely to be another tech boom to give her campaign momentium going into 2012. Then in 2012 when the GOP wins again, and probabally big, they'll be smart enough to have a competent but still inhumane frontman-a Nixonlike figure with Bush II's policies.

In short, the policies will still be bad, but given a second chance they won't fail to twist what little will be left of traditional American greatness and freedom into a perverse corporate theocracy.
